Do we have to go UR2 before a waitlist or a ding? 1) I'm wondering if the wait is some kind of unofficial hold, like they're still waiting to see how many people they have committed before they review us again, but then 2) Judging from last year's cycle, UVA was waitlisting and dinging people until the very end of March. Some people that applied in the fall were waiting that long for a decision and by then the class was pretty much full. So potentially the longer the wait, the less promising the news.squirtlesquad14 wrote:I'm still waiting on UVA and NYU. NYU I know is a waitlist...because they don't put people on the waitlist until April (seems like a cruel practice) and no reason they wouldn't have rejected by now if it was going that route. Figured UVA will be the same since for November applicants on MyLSN, 42 March decisions are waitlists, 3 acceptances and no rejections. But who knows what the holdup is. I've kind of gotten used to it being a splitter.threatlevelmidnight wrote:UR1 since 11/13, maybe we have the same reader. It's the only school I'm still waiting on and I'm guessing it isn't even good news, so what's the hold up, UVA?squirtlesquad14 wrote:UR1 since 11/12...I just want them to send me the waitlist notification and be done with it.bezmialem wrote:Applied in January and still at UR1. This wait is already killing me, I can't imagine having applied earlier and still waiting.

Good luck! Sending good vibes your way!gazorpazorp wrote:So, I finally went UR2 this morning following an interview on Feb 26.
Strangely, i was at "UR 10/8" until a few hours ago, when it changed to "UR 3/4." Which is weird because... Today is the 7th.
BUT, based on previous accounts from other posters, I have high hopes that this could mean good news is coming my way today.

Hi all,
Does anyone have knowledge about the Teach for America scholarship? Is this only given to select TFAers, or for every TFA alum that applies? I'm hopeful that I'll be admitted, and even more hopeful that I can get in on this $$

According to the UVA Law release when it was announced in 2009 (http://www.law.virginia.edu/html/news/2 ... merica.htm):JimmyPacquiao wrote:Hi all,

So if they are only giving out 5 a year, my guess would be that they have already been allocated at this point in the cycle, unless there just aren't TFA alumni applying this year. No idea if they have changed their guidelines or not though because a quick google search didn't bring up much recent info.Three members of Virginia’s Class of 2012 are being honored for their service in Teach for America, a program that places top college graduates in the most disadvantaged school districts across the country to teach for two years.
As the inaugural recipients of the Teach for America Scholarship, Lindsey Chamness, Brock Riggs and Janice Wang will only pay half of their tuition during law school. In future classes the award will be given to five Teach for America alumni.

Finally received my decision this morning... and it was a ding. I'm actually stunned. Had this happened back in Februay, it would've been completely unsurprising. But darn it if this whole interview thing didn't just give me the impression that I was going to be admitted.
Good luck to all of you still waiting on a decision, and thank you for all the advice & positivity -- you guys are awesome

Thanks guys. It's looking like Ann Arbor will be my destination this fall - it could be worseCardinal143 wrote:Sorry to hear thatgood luck with your decision to other schools! You will end up at the right school for you

Navy - I don't want to freak you out, but in the spirit of 100% honesty I thought it went very well. We went a bit over our time and IMO Jason said several things that just flat out don't make sense to say to someone who wasn't going to be admitted. Good luck - I know the waiting is excruciating.

Just went UR3 today after interviewing yesterday, but no decision status or change. Still says "application under review." Why do I have a bad feeling about this?

I'm just pretty sure that's what happened to gazorpazorp before he/she got dinged. Everyone else seems to have reported it moving directly to "admitted."Cardinal143 wrote:It's not over til it's over!
