A quick question! I have read through parts of the thread and tried the search function but I can't seem to find the email address where I should send a LOCI. Or is that something I should snail mail?

Could anyone help me out?

I think it's like NYUadmissions or whatever but call them on Monday. They'll be more than happy to tell you the email address.

went complete & UR1 1/7 and have had no movement since then in spite of an LOCI sent last week. 178/3.8 from a T5 school. i really want to be in new york but it's not looking good for either columbia or NYU. anyone have any thoughts about anything else i could do?

Isn't that a little soon to send an LOCI? Regardless, it seems like with your numbers you should be good to go. I know there's lots of talk in this thread about NYU being done with anything but waitlists at this point but as a fellow January submit I am holding out hope that we'll still get full consideration.

I'm sure you will all be fine and get in. I'm assuming the number of acceptances at NYU plummets this time of year just because they've accepted so many people already and there aren't that many people newly submitting in mid/late January or later for them to accept. I think everyone's pessimistic opinions about acceptances are exclusively for people who have been UR since Oct/Nov/Dec (like myself ).

well.. I don't want to douse your optimism but tons of people who submitted in Jan got in already.. typically within a week or two of going UR... so I think submit /UR dates are pretty much irrelevant at this point.. i.e. NYU is probably done admitting people until April..

yeah that's exactly what i'm worried about--i thought my numbers were pretty solid for nyu (well above medians) and i didn't think i had any red flags on my app.

my LOCI was more of an update. i just added a bit about my interest in nyu toward the end.

You do have very good numbers though. Have you had any luck with other schools? CLS or HLS?

Yup, I think admits are done for a while. WLs might come out next month going by the graph from last year but we're probably only gonna get trickles for the next few weeks.

Just filled out the merit aid form. I had been putting it off for a couple weeks, but it only takes a couple minutes if anyone else still needs to do it.

yeah what is this merit aid form you speak of, nothign listed on the ASW finaid for NYU as far as a supplemental form.

Just filled out the merit aid form. I had been putting it off for a couple weeks, but it only takes a couple minutes if anyone else still needs to do it.

What form are you talking about?

An online one? They sent me a link in an email. They just wanted to know about my assets and loans and personal information, and that's about it.

I'm thinking maybe it was the same form as for need based. They said to email them if you didn't want need based consideration so I did that. Then they sent me this link to apply for merit aid and it just said Financial Aid form or whatever.

Ohh okay. I'm guessing it serves the same purpose as need access, but probably shorter since you're not actually applying for need aid. I think if you fill out need access, there's nothing else you need to do. Thanks for clarifying!

I called the fin aid office a few weeks ago and they told me that for merit aid, Need Access is sufficient.

Got notice that I received the Vanderbilt Scholarship in the mail today. I guess they are starting to roll it out for JD students now. FWIW, I didn't fill out any Need Access or other financial aid materials before getting it.

Thanks, guys, I'm truly grateful for how it's gone and all the info and support TLS has given me. Now if only LSN would go back to working at a reasonable speed so I can put up information for future generations of applicants...

Wow! Congrats on the $$$!! I'm submitting my NeedAccess and FAFSA Monday, hoping NYU can do a quick turnaround for me as well. We're numbers twins so hoping for the best!
