Yeah and I never sent any reply to the original WL letter (no LOCI or anything). Maybe they're only sending out emails to people they haven't heard from.
Whew~~ at least this is comforting for those of us that have sent in LOCI... I was concerned that the round of emails were for specially chosen WL'ers more likely to be accepted... C'mon UW let's get that second round of acceptance calls going

I sent a very minimal LOCI a few months back, and received the email last evening regarding continued interest.

hmm now UW is really starting to confuse me.
I also sent in a heartfelt LOCI before April 15, but no email.

The strange thing to me is that they only called one person yesterday to offer acceptance. Or at least one person that we know of.

I sent an email, prior to April 15th, in response to the waitlist letter. It was brief and explained my interest in UW and why UW would be a great fit for me. It was not long. The email was structured and composed in direct response to what Mathiew suggested the email contain.
I live in Seattle.
I did not get an email last night.
I am not a happy camper.

Nothing that UW does makes any sense, so I wouldn't look too hard into it yet...

So from this thread, we are finding out UW's preference for OOS (like we didn't already know) to choose from WL? argh!
Any Washingtonians that sent in LOCI that GOT that darn email?? I just want to be comforted knowing that the emails were somehow randomly generated, and that they were not due to UW's distaste for in-state applicants.

WTF, now it really doesn't make sense. I am WA resident (UW grad), sent LOCI in March, no email... Why would they even ask if you made it clear in your LOCI that you want to stay on the list. Maybe they didn't send out all the emails yesterday...

Yeah that would really suck, if that's the case then they will probably keep the others on the list until September, just in case.
Also, still haven't gotten a response to an email/question sent two days ago...

I'll just make myself happy by thinking that they didn't send out emails to people they assumed were completely adamant on seeking admission to the UW.
