Anyone know about negotiating scholarships between loyola and depaul? Depaul seems to be giving more money, so if loyola could match depauls (assuming its more than what loyola gave), that would make loyola a little more attractive.

Does DePaul respond well to people who write LOCI's? What should you put in them, and how do you send them?

Emailed the school and finally got my status checker info.
It says that the letter was mailed on 1/25 but it has yet to arrive to my location (2.5 hours away by car). They must have sent it via donkey...

Hey guys, just registered here
I was accepted with the 15K/year scholarship provided I maintain a 3.2 GPA (160 LSAT 3.4 UGPA)
I have been reading some other forums that claim this scholarship is more of a trap than anything. ie. They give out the scholarship to 40% of the incoming class, but they curve the GPA's so that only the top 25% keep their scholarships. I'm happy to have received the scholarship, but very scared that I may lose it. I plan on working hard, but so does every other first year student trying to keep their scholarship.

Interesting. I received a scholarship from Loyola Chicago and in the email they mentioned 90% of those admitted with a scholarship maintain it. I might ask DePaul if they have any similar information about what percent actually keep their scholarship next semester/year.

Just got a call from a professor - I am officially in with $20,000 a year! He took a lot of time to answer questions, which I really appreciate. DePaul's faculty and administrators have really impressed me, I am definitely looking forward to attending one of the admitted student's days.
Hope some of you heard some good news today as well!

My letter was sent on Friday too. But I'm having everything sent to my home address, and my parents are away and won't get to the mail until Tuesday. Makes me a little anxious.

Congrats
Is your scholarship contingent on a 3.2 GPA? Did you get a chance to ask the professor about how many students keep the scholarship?

Affirmative on 3.2 GPA stipulation. I didn't think to ask him about how many students actually keep the scholarsihp, but when I posted on here after I received the phone call I actually remembered that. He said to email or call him if I had any other questions though, so I will probably follow up and include that in a few questions I may have for him.

Nope. I guess I didn't think they'd start looking over the WL this early.

There's a lot of incongruence going on with DePaul's status checker system..... so when it finally says the decision letter was sent on the left side under mailings, is that the actual day it's being sent out from the school or is there another layer which will pop up? Last week the upper right side of the status checker indicated it was sent which was later changed. I'm close to the school - so if it truly was sent today, I'm expecting it tomorrow. Am I missing something?

For me, it said it was mailed on one date on the right hand side where your status is displayed. But, then a few days later under the mailings section on the left hand side it had a later mailing date. The later mailing date was the day it was actually sent according to the postmark on my letter.
