Cardozo just likes to do that. They put me on hold, but eventually let me in with $$. It's not exactly like being waitlisted, since it would be strange for a waitlist admit to be offered money.

Cardozo put me on hold last year. If I hadn't already decided to go somewhere else, I think I would've gotten in with a simple LOCI stating an intent to attend. They waited a long long time before moving me from "on hold" to the WL, like they were waiting for a sign from me. Other people who explained a desire to attend after being held were accepted.

It's a way, I think, for them to gauge your interest before deciding what to do with you. That way their acceptance ratio suffers less. It's a less harsh form of YP.

So i entered in cardozo2013(standard username) and my email (passwd) into the admitted students login and its says congrats on your admissions. I haven't heard a peep though from anyone yet. Can anyone do this or does it mean acceptance?

funny, i just did the exact same thing and was excited...until I entered my husband's email address as a test (he is not applying to law school) and it said the same exact thing. sorry! guess we have to keep on waiting.

I got the "hold" e-mail today, but my status changed to "decision rendered and sent" at about the same time, is that the same for everyone too? Am I the only one who thinks that's strange for it to say decision rendered when I'm on hold?

Same, I guess at least for admin purposes they consider a hold a decision?

They assume that only admitted students go to that page.... if you just do a search for 'admitted students' on their page, the same paragraph comes up.

But if they haven't done so, at least I would consider Cardozo seriously.......but now, I don't know whether I would like to write a LOCI to them or not.

no, several people last year got off the WL with a hunk of money. they seem to like to YP people or something. its pretty annoying.
