Congrats!Sarastro wrote:Applied 11/20 and heard literally nothing after the confirmation email until last night- Got a voicemail saying I had been accepted.
Sorry to those dinged. Best of luck on your other apps.
Data:
25<GPA<50
75<LSAT
Out of state, no Why Texas
Moral:
No news isn't bad news
To me, no news by now = waitlisted. I have yet to decide if that's a good or bad thing..

Same and v confused. I thought maybe it was a mistake.. Has anyone who has been accepted received that email?m052310 wrote:So I got an email to join the facebook group for C/O 2020 but haven't heard anything else (my phone has been jacked up for weeks). I was accepted Wednesday and got that email yesterday. I figured there was a correlation considering it was the first email I had gotten from them in months.Strangeland wrote:Same and v confused. Same for me, accepted by phone call Wednesday and got the email Thursday. Got dinged earlier this morning. Why Tex Law requested bef Christmas but didn't submit one because I have never been to Texas and the only reason I could think of was its proximity to "T14". What I dont understand tho is why bother sending out fee waivers to OOS applicants if they never intended to accept many.

I went complete 11/22, but I have never been asked for a Why Texas. Do you think I should just send them one or is it late/odd since they haven't asked for one??

I haven't been asked for a Why Texas either and went complete around the same time.ray.bee wrote:I went complete 11/22, but I have never been asked for a Why Texas. Do you think I should just send them one or is it late/odd since they haven't asked for one??
I'm not bothering with writing one unless they ask lol. But I'm also not super attached to the idea of going to UT...

It's one of my top choices and it is a reach, especially with their focus on LSAT.brinicolec wrote:I haven't been asked for a Why Texas either and went complete around the same time.ray.bee wrote:I went complete 11/22, but I have never been asked for a Why Texas. If you're asked to write a Why Texas and comply, are the chances of you getting admitted generally pretty good?

I think it's pretty good if you write the statement, not writing it most likely hurts you.act0491 wrote:If you're asked to write a Why Texas and comply, are the chances of you getting admitted generally pretty good?

So, yesterday I emailed admissions a PDF of my Why Texas essay (even though they never asked for one LOLOL). They never replied, though. Is that weird/do you think that means they won't consider the extra document?
FYI: Complete 11/22 and haven't heard anything since.

Even when they did request one, it took them 3-4 weeks for me to get an email acknowledging it.ray.bee wrote:So, yesterday I emailed admissions a PDF of my Why Texas essay (even though they never asked for one LOLOL). I've been complete since 11/22 too, but I'm a Tex res. Looking at mylsn there hasn't been that many people who went complete after 11/20 and got a decision. I only see 4 people, with 3 of them being rejections.ray.bee wrote:So, yesterday I emailed admissions a PDF of my Why Texas essay (even though they never asked for one LOLOL). Edit: Nvm I see 6 with 4 of them being rejections.

If you were asked to submit a Why Texas, did you just write it in the body of the email or attach as a PDF?

You should always say something in the body of the email as well! Many don't and you'll stand out/ it may come across as rude to just send it with no thanks or anything!:)addie1412 wrote:If you were asked to submit a Why Texas, did you just write it in the body of the email or attach as a PDF?
