Mine was conversational.jlet0314 wrote:Off campus interview scheduled next week. Anyone else interview off campus? How was it?
Why law. Why NW. What to do if not law.
I'm a PhD so my resume is more academic. So we didn't talk much about my resume. But he asked how much I know about law.
Then I ask a lot of questions. And he did say the school also evaluate the questions you ask, so you'd better go there with some curiosity and thought.
Lasted almost 1 hour cuz we talked too much. Yea, very conversational and friendly.

My alumni interview was 16 business days ago, and still my application is incomplete. Think I'm going to send an e-mail today to inquire about it, as it seems like it's a bit longer than most other people on this thread waited. Has anyone else done this?

Kind of a similar boat, but I had an on-campus interview about a week and a half ago. My app is still incomplete because of the interview. I am applying ED and was told the app must be complete by 12/1. I had emailed before hand and they said the interview would not be too late for ED, so I think I am okay, but I was wondering if this is something I should be proactive about.

My app went complete over a week ago and I still have not received an email about completing an online video interview. Should I be concerned/contact the admissions office?

No. leave the admissions office alone, they are very busy. If your app is complete, it's complete. Check your spam folders and stuff. Also remember that it was just Thanksgiving, so they all likely took a couple days off, not to mention the amount of applications they are receiving is probably growing.lazarzhr wrote:My app went complete over a week ago and I still have not received an email about completing an online video interview. I think it is better to be proactive on this. The deadline is tomorrow, you should call and explain the situation and see their recommendation.glockov wrote:Kind of a similar boat, but I had an on-campus interview about a week and a half ago. Hey guys, I have a question about the interview email. I got an email from Northwestern about my interviewer but I seriously cannot tell if they are a man/woman. They don't have a Facebook profile and I don't know how to start my email.. should I call the school about my interviewer? Or just say Dear Mr./Mrs. lol any help would be appreciated!

I am freaking out over here. I also wish that they would just tell me if I am in ED or not already! I have submitted my apps to the t14 that I would consider attending, but I haven't done my safety schools yet so that I don't waste money on apps. Starting to get nervous I would miss out on the scholarship money if I don't submit to the safeties soon though.

Dangerous game. Having your options open is worth the extra ~$200 bucks. Not worth losing sleep over.jjcorvino wrote:I am freaking out over here. Looks like it will be a couple more weeks until we hear back, based on previous years. I personally bit the bullet and submitted all my apps. It's around 150 bucks for peace of mind and, if I don't get in to NU ED, could lead to thousands of extra scholarship $$.

Hey guys! I sent an email to my off-campus interviewer 4 days ago and still haven't heard back. Should I shoot my interviewer a follow-up email, wait longer, or contact the school?

The school says to wait two weeks for a response, then send a friendly follow up. It's in the FAQ, which is confusing because there are like three FAQs lolChristinabruin wrote:Hey guys! Re: Northwestern c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Hey guys,
So I got an email from a member of the Black Student Initiative inviting me to schedule an interview in-person or via Skype with the person who sent the email (or two other members) as I finish up my app.
Does anyone know if this is meant to be in place of an alumni interview?
I was originally going to have to do the online interview because no alumni live near me so this would be a great alternative. Just trying to figure out if that's what this interview would be for or if it's for something else (no clue what that would be).

Yes I think it's in place of, and you should definitely take it. A URM applicant from last year's cycle had told me that it happened to him and that I should accept had I gotten the chance.

I went ahead and asked her for clarification and it is in place of it. Definitely going to take advantage of the opportunity!20171lhopeful wrote:brinicolec wrote:Hey guys,

Did my online interview yesterday, all of the questions that came up have been posted ITT at some point so it felt fairly decent, thanks to all who posted their questions!
Still not a fan of the interview format tho.

How long does the wait from interview to decision normally take?

ED decisions are usually before Christmas Break. People that interviewed in December last year received decisions in Late January or February. Seems like 1 to 2 month turnaround, leaning more toward the 2 month.HaveMercy wrote:How long does the wait from interview to decision normally take?

I just did the same. I have submitted 11 apps, two are safeties.
