Probably not for a while. It's possible that you could know soon, but don't hold your breath.PDX4343 wrote:Not sure but I'm in the same boat. UR2 since 9/19.Assasindowntheavenue wrote:For RD applicants, anyone know the time range we can be looking at once we are UR2?
You can if you want, but you've already been admitted. Essentially the only thing letting them know will do is if you want them to set you up with a student to speak with or get a list of classes to sit in on/tour set up, they can prepare that in advance of your visit. But it won't hurt, unless you are unreasonably pushy about something. (They won't rescind your admission, but it could just be nagl).potterotter wrote:Should I let the Admissions office know that I am coming for a tour/class visit? (I was admitted)
no. I don't recall many Duke interviews reported outside of those for scholarship stuff. Also, pretty sure your second question set has been answered in this thread already. If not, then in the old threads which are also very helpful for repetitive questions like this. No. FA comes later, as should also be indicated on the Duke information on their site somewhere. Also, please retake if you haven't or aren't planning to.call-me-bubbles wrote:For RD applicants, does Duke interview everyone they're seriously considering (like UVA)? Also, if admitted, are you notified up front about scholarships/financial aid, or does all that (and all the negotiation) come later, after the new year?

Thanks for the info. Any idea about UR3? Is an impending decision more likely at that stage?lymenheimer wrote:Probably not for a while. Re: Duke Law School c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
If you're not PT, don't hold your breath. Look, I was as eager for decisions, but it's way different here than waiting for an LSAT score. At least there's a range of dates the LSAT scores will be released. Unless you are guaranteed a decision through some program (like PT), they're not going to rush out your admission decision. Even for PT, there is no point in reading into the date changes because some people go UR2 on day 6 and don't get their decision until day 10. There are a few schools that effectively use and update their status checkers and have their timelines fall into a rhythm with the status checker. You will likely know if that is the case. If you don't know, then it probably is not the case. For Duke, it is not the case, especially this early. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.Assasindowntheavenue wrote: Thanks for the info. For those who have received decisions, about how long did it take to get an email after the status checker changed to "decision made, watch for email"? I just checked and saw that it had updated. (for reference, this is my day 9)

For me it was about a day. SC changed to decision made on day 9, and I didn't receive the email until late day 10. So don't stress! Expect it at the last minute, and be pleasantly surprised if it comes sooner.shoparoundthecorner wrote:For those who have received decisions, about how long did it take to get an email after the status checker changed to "decision made, watch for email"? pt Day 10, I'm finding it difficult to do work when I can just pointlessly refresh the status checker all day instead...

Same bro, like why can't they just tell me already.
I've seen that someone got a decision on PT day 11 though.

And in the end, pt was for nothing. Fall grades requested. I'm a bit annoyed as I've posted straight As for several semesters in a row now and it's not like I'm just going to up and quit now. Whatever though, I assume this means my acceptance is conditional based on me pushing a bit closer to the median GPA and that's well within my control. Not a bad situation to be in.

Re: Duke Law School c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
I would assume that they are doing that to a lot of early PTers who are KJDs...it makes sense. They are just judging you on six semesters, compared to eight semesters and several years of work experience for others. I bet other schools tend to hold acceptances until at least fall grades come out just to add an extra realm of depth to your application. Anyway, sorry to hear you have to wait moreBob loblaw law blog wrote:And in the end, pt was for nothing. Fall grades requested.
