Thanks for your responses, they were really helpful! On the note of leverage, do you think a June LSAT score could warrant more scholarship money, even if I've already deposited? As a reverse splitter tls has officially convinced me to retake. Would moving from a 160 to 165 be enough of a jump?woodchuck78 wrote:^^ I agree. If you have better offers, tell them. I was accepted mid-November and offered $30,000 for all three years, or $10,000 a year. I would probably only consider going if I received at least $20,000 a year. I have a 3.99 gpa and 160 lsat, so not sure how realistic I'm being.
My question is, is this how it always was or is this something new that they're doing? Does this mean you can't negotiate after March 15th? What if you get more acceptances/scholarship money to use as leverage after that date? March 15th is so early, especially for scholarship info...
I doubt that this is a new policy but you could check in previous years' threads to see what they say. I would be shocked if they won't let you negotiate after March 15th. Many times, scholarship negotiations can carry on late into the summer.

Yes, that could be successful negotiation leverage, but it isn't as strong as having a better offer at another school, whether it be more money at a similarly ranked school or admission to a T14. Without such an offer, your leverage would be you threatening to sit out a cycle and reapply next cycle with a higher LSAT. Not as strong IMO, but still could be successful.abc__ wrote:Thanks for your responses, they were really helpful! I'm guessing you know this but the Presidential Scholarship is only available to those who apply specifically through that binding admissions program. If you apply regularly, the most you can receive is 45k/yearinvgr8 wrote:Applied on 11/18

Yes I do, thanks. I was just wondering if anyone knew the needed LSAT and GPA to be considered to the Presidential Binding?tflan19 wrote:I'm guessing you know this but the Presidential Scholarship is only available to those who apply specifically through that binding admissions program. Re: George Washington 2015-2016 Applicants
I realized that I misspoke (mistyped?) earlier and that the most they will give you yearly as a regular applicant is $45k. However, I remember seeing something somewhere (but can't find it now) that said that they won't negotiate with you over a certain level (it was around 30-35k). I'm guessing that you've already hit that max and thats why you can't see the request form. However, it wouldn't hurt to attempt to negotiate but really temper your expectations.MikeChristopher wrote:I too am wondering if it is possible/worth trying to negotiate more than 35k/yr from GW as a regular-decision student. I was given an initial offer of -- 35k/yr. Should I anticipate any budging if I attempt to negotiate further than the 35k?
If I am not eligible to send a Scholarship Reconsideration Request Form (as in, can't access the form via the Admitted Students Portal), should I simply e-mail the admissions office and request reconsideration that way? And should I do this during or after the Feb 1-Mar 15 window?
This has been a source of major anxiety for me, as I do not think it will be financially feasible for me to attend GW without a full scholarship... any insights would be appreciated.

Re: George Washington 2015-2016 Applicants
This policy is very intriguing. I think it's clever the way they have linked their full scholarships to forcing an early commitment to attend, but I don't see how/why they couldn't just manufacture that again in scholarship negotiation. They could easily have a commitment clause at the end of their scholarship reconsideration from which says that you commit to attend if they match your demands, up to a full scholarship.nicola16 wrote:I believe I read specifically on the ASW that they do not award full scholarships to non-Presidential scholars. You could get quite a lot, but not full, I'm guessing.MikeChristopher wrote:I too am wondering if it is possible/worth trying to negotiate more than 35k/yr from GW as a regular-decision student. If I can't access the Admitted Student Portal but it let me register, is that a definitely answer that I did not get in? Was everyone able to access the portal early before the decision email came?
