Admitted applicants, does Emory offer travel vouchers for tours?

Clearly it went out to everyone. You think they made a decision on your application in a day?madoodle16 wrote:I went complete on the 21st and got an email about letters being sent out on the 22nd...should I be looking for one or did that email go out to everyone who applied?

I figured it went out to everyone, just checking though because some of my friends who also applied and have completed apps didn't get that email. Thanks!splitterfromhell wrote:Clearly it went out to everyone. I wonder why Emory made a few decisions already, but hasn't gotten to some auto-admits (at least based on stats).

They honestly just might be doing it in order of when the application went complete. The only person I know who's heard back sent his app in at the beginning of November. So it's possible they could have a decision made for people with great stats already, but since it's done by snail mail it's possible they haven't gotten to getting the acceptance packet completed with the hand written note and everything. But that's just a theory lol.bdb90 wrote:I wonder why Emory made a few decisions already, but hasn't gotten to some auto-admits (at least based on stats).

Maybe they are waiting for Woodruff selections to be made so that they can get all of their scholarship information in order?bdb90 wrote:I wonder why Emory made a few decisions already, but hasn't gotten to some auto-admits (at least based on stats).

Re: Emory Law c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
That very well may be the reason, and I am hoping that it is. I just wish Emory had a status checker so I could see if something has been mailed or not. Does anyone know when Emory starts to send out waitlist decisions by chance? I don't think I would be waitlisted, but you never know with how schools yp applicants.lawlaura3494 wrote:They honestly just might be doing it in order of when the application went complete. I didn't think about this. Thank you for bringing it up. I could definitely see this as being the hold up on some applicants acceptances.cc1012 wrote:Maybe they are waiting for Woodruff selections to be made so that they can get all of their scholarship information in order?bdb90 wrote:I wonder why Emory made a few decisions already, but hasn't gotten to some auto-admits (at least based on stats).

Anyone else get the Woodruff email? Just means we're 'under review'? Not sure how enthused I am about waiting until mid-March (and beyond)...

Thats my hope. I would imagine they wouldnt reject anyone who they were actually considering for the fellowship. Pretty bummed about March though.wellitsover wrote:Yup. I also got that email and just called them, they said that it is not a confirmation of acceptance. The Woodruff had a separate application and also has a separate review process, so it's not necessarily true that you are accepted if you have gotten that email... it just means that you applied for the Woodruff and are being considered. I think it was sent to everyone. As someone who hasn't gotten a decision notification yet that really sucks... can someone else call and confirm maybe? I got so excited...bdb90 wrote:Has anyone on TLS who got the email about the woodruff fellowship also gotten an acceptance yet?cecrum wrote:Thats my hope. Re: Emory Law c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Hey everyone so I just called the office of admissions and feel free to call yourselves to confirm but I was told that Woodruff applicants shouldn't expect to hear back until March 10th for both admissions AND woodruff and that we shouldnt expect to hear back about either beforehand. I asked about what I had seen on the webside (Feb. 15th notification) and she said that they probably sent the email because they've been having difficulties with ED so everything has been pushed back it seems. Again, feel free to call yourselves and double check but that's what I was told a few minutes ago. I'm curious as to whether anyone who already got notice already one way or another about admissions also applied to Woodruff?ChocoFreeze wrote:That's the impression I'm getting too. Ugh. Damn - thanks for following up. Might well withdraw my app before I even hear back... And to think I applied on August 15th...scotusnerd2016 wrote:ChocoFreeze wrote:Hey everyone so I just called the office of admissions and feel free to call yourselves to confirm but I was told that Woodruff applicants shouldn't expect to hear back until March 10th for both admissions AND woodruff and that we shouldnt expect to hear back about either beforehand. UGH that's so frustrating, having to wait until the second week of MARCH to hear anything back at all? :/scotusnerd2016 wrote:

I too second the question if anyone has gotten an admissions decision and is waiting on a Woodruff notification.

Again, I really do encourage you to call and ask yourselves because when I mentioned the email at first she had to go ask someone about it. But i am relaying what I was told as it was communicated to me.ChocoFreeze wrote:UGH that's so frustrating, having to wait until the second week of MARCH to hear anything back at all? :/scotusnerd2016 wrote:

I wouldn't withdraw any applications or do anything rash in response to what I was told! haha

I was admitted ED early and got the Woodruff email this afternoon. I was relieved because I had been wondering if I would get a financial aid notification soon or not. Looks like the timetable is pushed back about a month for this cycle for some reason.

Congrats on admissions! Yeah it's clear that woodruff or not, ED should hear back soon if they haven't already.Bueller wrote:I was admitted ED early and got the Woodruff email this afternoon.
