Checking in. Hoping that the uptick in LSAT takers isn't the death of me.

Quick question: for those of you that attached a separate "Why Cornell?" did you just leave the "Interest in Cornell" section blank?

No, I basically wrote a quick summary of my Why Cornell essay on it. Thought it would look silly if I left that section blank.Tycho wrote:Quick question: for those of you that attached a separate "Why Cornell?" did you just leave the "Interest in Cornell" section blank?

Gotcha. That's probably what I'll do. I ask b/c it might be bad form to say "please see attachment" when they ask for a few brief sentences in that section.DownUnder wrote:No, I basically wrote a quick summary of my Why Cornell essay on it. Submitted just the other day and ready for review. Didn't get a fee waiver when they sent 'em out last week, so I just bit the bullet on this one.

They sent my login the day after I submitted.DownUnder wrote:When do we get access to the status checker?? It has been a week since ive submitted...
ETA: If it's been a week, you might consider shooting them a friendly email asking if they received your app.

Re: Cornell Law School c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
i have a question about the "why cornell addendum"
My stats are above cornell's 75, and it appears that i need to write it to avoid waitlist.
I am thinking about being blunt about my reasons and cut the bs about diverse student body, rigorous academic environment, or public interest program. I am an international student, and cornell is very well-known in my home country. I want cornell so that i can find a lucrative position back home upon graduation.
will this result into a immediate rejection?

So yes, this probably is a ED applicant thing.

Re: Cornell Law School c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
thanks. it just seems like everyone's addendum is about school's great legal education and unique clinical programs. so i am worried about being too blunt.Hildegard15 wrote:...Why would that make them reject you? It's a relevant reason that's unique to you. Cornell is way more likely to believe that than some generic "I like x clinic" essay.brief_little_candle wrote:i have a question about the "why cornell addendum"

So yes, this probably is a ED applicant thing.
The ED group as a collective unit tends to move forward in with pretty similar timing in the application process. This is assuming I am remembering correctly.
