Any news for those who are Decision Not Finalized?

If this is a WL, why not just send out WL letters?

Because I'm pretty sure it means that their decision hasn't been finalized.

Gonna say this is a 99% likelihood you are in. You will likely get the email today/tomorrow. That happened to me and I got the email at 7:37am the next day.

As for scholarship info this comes probably a couple days later in your mailed admission packet. Mine was postmarked for 2 days before I received my acceptance.

Thanks, I did get my acceptance email yesterday! Waiting on the packet now, fingers crossed!

first-time poster here, wondering if someone can shed light on how lenient W&M is with scholarship negotiation
I'm in-state and I got a 15k renewable scholarship, so I would only pay around 15k for tuition, which is nice, but I've gotten offers at higher schools (Vandy, WashU)

Is 15k considered a lot of scholarship$ from W&M? (Above both 75ths for W&M)

Not sure whether they negotiate or not, but here is their ABA disclosure from last year:

Columns are Total # and %

Total # of students 623 100%
Total # receiving grants 497 79.8%
Less than 1/2 tuition 424 68.1%
Half to full tuition 73 11.7%
Full tuition 0 0%
More than full tuition 0 0%

75th Percentile grant amount $ 15,000
50th Percentile grant amount $ 10,000
25th Percentile grant amount $ 8,000

Anyone heard about the fellowships you applied for (like for specific clinics)?

No, not yet. Though, I believe they said the decision would be made in the middle of February.

Historically it seems that they don't negotiate very much because their tuition (especially for those in-state) is already cheap in comparison to other schools.

Accepted last fall and recently withdrew. Hopefully that will speed up the process for some of you on the Decision Not Finalized list and free up a lot of $ for people waiting to hear about scholarships! Best of luck to all.

Does anyone have thoughts on whether a LOCI at this point would be a smart move for those who are "Decision Not Finalized"?

I think this "File Complete/Decision Not Finalized" status makes me feel the saddest of all the schools' SC updates, because it's obvious that they have already picked up my app, looked it over once, went "meh", and put it aside again... whereas for other schools there's always the blind hope that just haven't gotten around to me yet...

Has anyone else been contacted by a William and Mary alumni ambassador to discuss the school? Just wondering if anyone else has had a meeting.

I was contacted and spoke on Skype for a hour. I am overseas so obviously couldn't have a face to face meeting.

Has anybody heard anything new on special fellowships? They were supposed to be awarded in the mid February.

I spoke to someone who was offered one of the special fellowships in mid February. I haven't heard anything about mine, so hoping they're waiting for people's decisions and then maybe will offer more...

Yeah I am waiting too. I have already been offered a fully funded research position with a stipend and a part-time teaching position by a comparable school so hopefully they will get back to me soon.

Has anyone had any success in negotiating scholarships? I understand that their tuition and COL is lower than most schools but more money is always helpful

New status checker website layout? Maybe that means decisions are coming...

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
