Wooo! Dec. LSAT bumped my score by 5 points, let's hope it's enough for that 203 phone call!

You shouldn't make decisions like that based on your chances of getting into Yale lol. But anyway it will show you are retaking when you apply and they'll hold it until they get results so it doesn't matterleslieknope wrote:Hey all. I got my LSAT score from the December administration, and unfortunately, it is not good enough for YLS. Since Yale says the February LSAT does not put you at a disadvantage and it would also be helpful for scholarship negotiations, I'm considering retaking in February. My question is- should I submit my app now and ask the adcom to hold it until my February LSAT comes back, or submit my app on the deadline? My application is all ready to go, it's just those damn two extra LSAT points. Is there an advantage/disadvantage either way? Thanks!

Re: Yale c/o 2018 (2014-2015 Applicants)
Hi all! Just checking in here, though Yale is definitely a long-shot. Quick question: I sent in my application on 12/16 and have not heard anything back at all. Not even an email acknowledging my application. I hadn't been too worried about it, because I figured everything would slow down during the holidays. Now, though, I'm starting to wonder whether there might have been some kind of error. Is this an unusually long time to wait or have others experienced something similar? I might just call/email, but the admissions website strongly discourages it.
Thanks! And congrats to all those who have been admitted!

Fwiw, it took a while (about a week) for me to get an application received thing too, and I applied about 3 weeks before you.soexcited wrote:Hi all! Don't worry. They were open for three days since you applied (17-19th). Right now they've just reopened but they've probably got tons of backlogged stuff to get through. I wouldn't be really worried till January 19th maybe, especially if LSAC shows your app as submitted.

I had considerable movement on my apps even after I registered for a retake. I've also heard of other applicants receiving affirmative decisions prior to getting their new LSAT score. It's really up to the individual school.
Also, there's nothing wrong with retaking for Yale. If that's your first choice, go for it. It's not like a retake hurts you in any way.

Sorry to pop in. So you don't think a retake would hurt? Im so afraid that somehow with my luck my score will suddenly drop somehow and that would lower my chances. I don't know how schools look at someone's scores if it drops on their last retake.

First admit was in person on Dec 5, with first calls on Dec 6.Seoulless wrote:When did the first admits go out? About 20 people are on their facebook 2018 group that joined the group less than a month ago. There are a bunch who joined more than a month ago (assuming they are deferrals from last year).

Others in the FB group are deferrals from the 2013-2014 cycle.

As far as I can tell, "about a month ago" and later are recent admits. Deferrals appear to have joined 6-7 months ago.Seoulless wrote:
Facebook group has 3 classes of people:
Those who joined months and months ago
Those who joined "about a month ago"
Those who joined after.
Would you put those who joined "about a month ago" as recent admits or deferrals all being added at the same time?

Hi everyone! I sent in my application 12/9, got the 'received' email 12/10, but can't find any 'complete' email in my account. Any way it got filtered out or should I email/call them? I don't want to bug them if it's nothing. Thanks!

I sent in my application mid November, but never received any confirmation email. Their website specifically says not to contact them with application status questions, but I'm not sure if they ever even received my app. I'm definitely torn on what to do.

They send a confirmation email so you should reach out to make sure. I don't see anything wrong with that. It would be a different story if you were bugging them about making a decision on your app.Bjack wrote:I sent in my application mid November, but never received any confirmation email. Re: Yale c/o 2018 (2014-2015 Applicants)
Thanks. I just called and they said they sent a confirmation email and sent a letter in the mail November 19th. They double checked both addresses and both were correct. I'm a little worried about why I did not receive either, am I going to receive my final decision... Either way, no decision has been made yet.hillz wrote:They send a confirmation email so you should reach out to make sure. I don't see anything wrong with that. More calls going out today (according to YLS twitter).
Yale has almost definitely let in more people than Harvard so far. Weird.
