Thanks. I think that's a better way to go, and I know that a few of those applicants are just below median.

I know this is sacrilegious but I'm withdrawing after a JS1 in January. Talked about it with some friends of mine and it feels more like an ego boost than anything to continue pursuing the waitlist.

NYU gave me a good offer and I don't see how an HLS acceptance could benefit me. Good luck to you all. Ill see some of you in New York.

I realize I'm really late to the conversation, but I just thought I'd throw in the fact that I have 4 friends in the HLS 2017 group, and I know that each of them is going somewhere else. So there's hope (or something).

I have two admitted friends (one of whom is a URM), planning to withdraw this week.

I've also seen several posters state that they're committed to another school or are strongly leaning elsewhere. With deadlines coming up soon there will only be more people who withdraw.

Now obviously this happens every year, but the point is that spots will open up for us soon!

Sooooo, I have a question that is marginally relevant I guess. Do ALL admitted students get a J1/J2??? Even for international students?? Because I was placed on WL quite a while back, and I never got my request for J1. I'm starting to wonder if I should just give up

Thanks for sharing! Did they say no action at all (inlcuding JS1s) or just no JS2 offers until then?

Last cycle JS2s started on May 22nd, so hopefully that means 15-20 will include acceptances and not just JS1s.

Last cycle JS1s started just a few days after the WL came out, so it would be a big change if there were no JS1s for so long. It seems like a significantly greater proportion of WL'd candidates have pre-WL interviewers vs. other years, but still...

did anyone take a peek inside the admissions office window and see those big packages? made we wonder if there was another small js2 wave after the 4/1 one.

haha....I saw that and didn't like it. I noticed that another poster said that someone (presumably an admitted student) was walking around with one of them though, so maybe they're not for upcoming JS2s.
