No movement since I went complete 1/9...should I be worried?
I went complete around 1/10 and then changed date on 1/27. Anyone have similar dates?

If USNWR significantly bases rankings on BigLaw placement right out of law school, I'm looking at their rankings with more skepticism from now on.
How do you know your theory about Fordham is right?

Do you guys think Fordham is being more or less selective this year based on their drop in the rankings?

Re: Fordham c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
I dunno man, there's really no comparison between Fordham and Cardozo when you look at the stats, excluding US News Rankings.fishfry111 wrote:For those who got admitted , congrats !!! Keep in min, however, that this is only part of your game; don't forget to negotiate on the scholly. Helpful link: http://lawschooladvice.com/guides/negot ... olarships/
Since Fordahm dropped like a rock from 29 to 38 last year (and possibly lower this year because of their dismal employment stats), they've realized that they're now in Cardozo territory, which has always given major money. Do NOT depend of what they say at Admitted Students Day, but rather, do your research on the liglaw placement stats (LawSchoolTransparency or Above-the-Law) and weigh the pro0bability of your biglaw prospects against the debt that Fordham's stingy scholly doesn't cover.
Fordham is a great school, but in this economy, grads are left with either feast or famine. Do your homework on the research, and negotiate, negotiate, negotiate.
I have a full ride to 'Dozo, but Fordham isn't known for handing out money. I don't see them starting because they are now similarly ranked to a school they know they place better than.

Re: Fordham c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
I would strongly suggest to applicants not to look at US News for their ranking information. Based on BigLaw alone, Fordham is actually #19 according to the American Law Journal, with about 33% getting BigLaw jobs. US News considers a large amount of unimportant information for those of you wanting a BigLaw job such as law school appearance, number of books in the law library, and even undergraduate and other graduate programs at the campus. If you graduate in the top at Fordham, top 33% to be exact, you'll be fine. Over 80% of the grads end up working in NYC. The alumni network is strong in the city. Definitely a MUCH stronger academic program than Cardozo. Not even in the same realm.

LSAT: 163
GPA: 3.9
Work experience: 7 years of legal with a private equity firm in environmental finance; Masters degree in Int'l Affairs at Columbia; International student / now permanent resident
What are my chances for the PT program? I intend to apply in the next two weeks (still need to get a letter of recommendation and finalize my statements, etc.).
Thanks all

As good as anyone honestly. GPA is above the 75th and LSAT is at median. Plus you have solid WE. Good luck!dreamofNYC wrote:LSAT: 163
