Anyone else having trouble logging onto the status checker? I got one like 2 months and never successfully logged onto it once, and I accidentally deleted the status checker email so I am not sure whether my information is correct. The Stanford status check username is essentially the same as the username for Harvard status check right? I assume it is since the interfaces are essentially the same.

Wouldn't this harm your chance given that you are essentially telling SLS that you did not pay much attention to their emails and randomly deleted them when you should have been archiving? Even if I can't log on they would still be reviewing my app as usual right, so there is really no reason to visit the page since all updates will be emailed anyways.

Well, since you can't log on, I'll just simply ask them to reset it for me. By doing this, I can have my user name and password back.

Anyone have insight into the financial aid process at Stanford? The information on their website is a little sparse when it comes to students who have a spouse and/or dependents. I have also been out of undergrad for a few years and am hoping I don't have to empty my retirement account and sell my home before I qualify for grants. I make 30k a year and have penny pinched to save money for law school...it would suck if I can't get need based aid because I was frugal.

I've found that going through their website has always given me that error message even though I know I'm entering the info correctly. I always refer back to the original email that they sent us with the URL included and use that.

This has been a problem in years past too. I'll put something in the first post about it.

When I went to accept him, the link didn't work, which makes me think he accidentally sent requests to everybody? Is the fact that the financial aid office has my email address a good sign? last year's cycle, some of the first applicants to hear back applied early Nov. Is this really behind in the "early application" curve? I thought SLS was like YLS in that you have roughly the same chance throughout since they're looking for superstars
