I know... the prospect of waiting another year, only to go through this again just seems awful, but its a possibility.

You should do much better if you apply early.

You might still end up okay. Just be patient with the wait lists over the summer. Congrats on the great score.StillIll wrote:Yeah... pretty much the monday before Feb 1st... whatever day that was.ChampagnePapi wrote:Yikes. Late app? Hang in there man. Where I'm at right now in my ever-evolving plan (and I mean on evolving on the daily) is that I'll pay the seat deposit at the best school-$$ value I get in at and then ride the waitlists. I'm 24 in May and do not want to wait until I'm 25 to begin Law School, especially when I will still have the momentum from finishing my UG in the early summer (5 year senior with a year off in the middle... I'm a little special). But once I get a little more information I'll start consulting lawyer family friend types on the best decision for me. Who knows, maybe that will be the best decision.

FYI, average age at most law schools is 24-25. I'll be 26 when I matriculate in the fall.StillIll wrote:.

Also, don't ask shit boomers for help with your decision. That's what TLS is for.
Hopefully you won't have to make that tough choice. If you get a T14 or a good regional with a large scholarship you could just go, since that's probably your best outcome with your split.

Re: Splitter Results for 2012-2013 App Cycle
I think it's just part of the unpredictableness of being a sub-3 splitter. I've been waitlisted at UIUC, Indiana, Fordham, and GW, and I'm above all of their LSAT medians. Yet, I've seen other people get in to those schools with lower stats and I've also gotten into higher ranked schools.BitterSplitter wrote:Hey, just out of curiousity, how do you guys think my cycle is going based purely on numbers? I am kind of nervous by the waitlists for UIUC, UC Davis, BC and W&L. I am above all of their medians and I am starting to think that even though my GPA is the anchor attached to my app, that there is another factor bogging it down as well. Thoughts?BitterSplitter wrote:UPDATED

How the hell were you waitlisted at IUB and I was in with 20k.....doesn't make sense. WTF WUSTLandy261 wrote:I think it's just part of the unpredictableness of being a sub-3 splitter. Re: Splitter Results for 2012-2013 App Cycle
Here's my updated cycle...
173/3.35
Stanford- Pending
Columbia- Pending (ED deferred to RD)
Chicago- Pending
NYU- Pending
Berkeley- Out
Penn- Pending (Held)
Virginia- Pending
Michigan- In
Northwestern- In
Duke- Pending
Georgetown- Withdrawn (preferred waitlist)
UCLA- In
I'm pretty satisfied with my results so far. If I had to pay my deposit today, I'd go to Michigan. I'm really crossing my fingers for Penn, and Columbia would be a dream come true.

Won't know till WL movement is winding down. So far looks like we're all getting held/WL where we'd expect. But no matter what happens Pedestrian got Yale, so this will go down in history as the greatest splitter cycle ever, even if the rest of us don't over perform.florida1949 wrote:hmm so basically the effect of the drop in applications hasn't really manifested itself yet, would you guys agree?
