Any way to view the scholarship offer online? I'm impatient and don't want to have to wait until Monday for the mail!

23,000/yr. UT is still actually cheaper with their scholarship then SMU is so I'll be withdrawing soon. Goodluck guys!

It looks like the scholarships are generally all over the place.
If those w/o LSN links in their profile wouldn't mind posting their #'s with their scholarship post, that'd be awesome! Thanks.

30K a year! More than I was expecting. I am still leaning towards UT though. If I don't make the cut for Sumners interview I will probably withdraw. Good-luck everyone still waiting!

Congrats to everyone who got money!
So the letters mailed on the 14th were scholarship awards, then?

Wow. Still nothing in the mail... and they told me in an email that mine was coming. Should I be worried? O.o
(I'm assuming they were letters sent via USPS?)
Congratulations to all! They just keep rolling in!

Re: SMU c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
Can anyone explain the process of both the Hughes Scholly and Sumners Scholly? I've seen some posts on here and on their FB page about "knowing soon" the results of the schollys. Will they call/email inviting for an interview? How many interviews? How do we know when to expect such a call or email if we're selected.

I was offered 23k/yr FT and am pretty pumped about it. TX Wesleyan has also upped my offer to a full ride -- has anyone heard anything about SMU and scholarship negotiations? I've heard stories of it working at other schools, but idk if throwing the full scholarship out there would be worth a shot at getting a few extra dollars, especially since it's from Wesleyan?

SMU does not really negotiate, and a full ride at Wesleyan wouldn't sway them even if they did. It would need to be a peer or better school.jenm12 wrote:I was offered 23k/yr FT and am pretty pumped about it. Contests to everyone!!!
I went complete on 1/15 and haven't heard anything yet. My numbers were good for them (3.75/166), so I am hoping for a positive response soonish.
They would have to send some money my way though. I've cracked T14 and I got 90k at Emory...

Yeah, you should get in this week or the next. But since SMU doesn't give out those full rides, you're probably best with sticking with your T14s.Ruthie wrote:Contests to everyone!!!

There is absolutely zero chance I would pass up a T14 to go to SMU.

So...have you enjoyed going to SMU? I haven't seen you write anything positive about it (except when contrasting it to Baylor).kalvano wrote:There is absolutely zero chance I would pass up a T14 to go to SMU.

I have, actually. Written positively and enjoyed going. In fact, I think I wrote a really long pros and cons post somewhere, if you'd like me to find it.
But from a job perspective, there is just so much more opportunity at a T14 than there is at SMU. Employers are going to go much deeper into the class, and there will simply be more available opportunities.
But there are a number of things I like about SMU.
