Re: Pepperdine c/o 2016
I submitted a last minute application end of March. It went into review earlier this week and I just checked my status and it shows admitted already, wow that was quick. Wonder if I got any money.
Now, should I consider Pepperdine? Plan had been going to Loyola.

Depends what you want to do after graduation, as well as what financial aid package at each place will look like.redmessengerbag wrote:I submitted a last minute application end of March. Look at http://lawschooltransparency.com/ and see what type of jobs each law school tends to place.JAAHJAAHCITY wrote:Can you elaborate?Depends what you want to do after graduation

Just got an email from Pepperdine, and it appears they have now created an official Facebook group for the class of 2016.

Does anyone know if Pepperdine is one of those schools that only sends out acceptances and waitlists? Confused about why I haven't heard from them when it's been close to 12 weeks that I've been in review.

Gatriel I'm just curious: What was your favorite/least favorite 1L class? Random but I'm over it.

My status now says decision rendered - I feel like most people saw they were admitted online. Anyone just get the decision rendered message and then accepted?
*nervous*

Yeah, I actually got an admitted students email that went to my spam, THEN it said decision rendered twelve hours later, and the next day I finally received an actual email that said I got in.

My deposit just went to a different school. That's 93k and a spot back to you guys. Good luck to everyone on the waitlist

Been in review for 8 weeks now and I have been checking my status and email (spam folder) literally two or more times per day... This waiting is killing me!

Anyone thought about reaching out to the school and asking when they could possibly find out? Just my 2 cents for those still waiting.

Since you are in at Pepperdine with $$$, would you be so kind and give admin a quick call for us? I really want to give them a call but don't want to take any chances....KD35 wrote:Anyone thought about reaching out to the school and asking when they could possibly find out? Re: Pepperdine c/o 2016
Ugh so it says 'decision rendered', and from reading everyone's posts, I'm assuming that's negative. Also I've moved out of my school housing and am now home abroad, so my mail has to be forwarded, so I won't find out for another week or more!
Should I be getting a positive or negative email soon or is it only via paper?
Any feedback would definitely be appreciated.

Best guess is that it will most likely not change. I think by this point that most people are trying to find some other/lower ranked school to go to (or better yet, studying for a retake)150s_or_bust wrote:Anyone still waiting for a decision? I'be been in "in review" since 3/22....

They're managing numbers. I got an increased scholly offer (but still with stips--when will they learn?) even though I did not deposit there, just this afternoon.KD35 wrote:Best guess is that it will most likely not change. I sent them back this article and said no thank you: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/01/busin ... d=all&_r=0

It appears their policy is to always have stips. Even the 5 people who get full tuition + 5k for housing have to maintain a certain gpa or rank.RedGiant wrote:They're managing numbers. Additionally, do you think you got an increase cuz you hadn't accepted their offer yet or what?

Re: Pepperdine c/o 2016
I don't know. I grew up near to Pepperdine (further down the coast, South Bay), so maybe they were trying to appeal to my being close to home? I'm not really rocking out the numbers or anything, but got into a lot of Tier 1 schools, some with substantial schollies, so Pepperdine, even with a lot of money, was not competitive, especially bc I don't want to practice in LA. Still, the fact that they offered me a slot means that there is still at least one!
