My admitted student packet arrived yesterday. Scholarship offer was $40K L1, $20K L2 and L3. So now for me it just comes down to whether that's a better offer than $20K per year at GW. Decisions, decisions...

I'd suggest GW if you don't want to work in Arizona.

That's the sense I'm getting, especially as an ASU undergrad. But to be honest I have NO IDEA where I want to work after law school. My dad and I just worked through the math, and after cost of living and everything, I probably end up with almost twice as much debt from GW as I would from ASU. And then there's the fact that my girlfriend and my friends, and basically my whole life are here in AZ. It's just... complicated. Next step is to visit GW I suppose.

Definitely visit if you can afford to do so. It sounds like ASU would be a good choice for you, but visiting GW could help seal the deal either way.

Having the ASU undergrad and gf/friends will certainly help you if you choose to hit up ASU. It's always good to have the ties.

Thanks for the advice, it's really helpful! I also have very good political connections down here so that's obviously going to give me a leg up should I stay here. But it sounds more and more like the GW visit will be necessary.

They will. They aren't as generous as other schools, though.

Just got my scholarship package. 35k, 20k, 10k. Pretty happy with that considering A. My numbers B. Phoenix is the lowest COL for schools I applied to.

Ok odd and uninformed question: As far as 1L classes I know we have the mandatory set but do we get to register for those classes ourselves (ie try to pick out a schedule) or is it assigned by the school like at some other schools?
