Just got an e-mail from W&M admissions about their student's community involvement, etc. I thought maybe they accepted me and that's why they sent me the e-mail, but I'm still under review. Law schools have been trolling me pretty hard this year -_-

Seriously, why would you send me an e-mail talking about how great your school is without accepting me?! Of course I like your school, that's why I applied.

I seriously checked my status after I got that email because I was like did I miss an acceptance email? Why else would they be trolling me this hard?!? You're trying it W&M!

Totally agree I too, am also glad I'm not alone in that response. I know your school is great, that's why I applied there. But you're likely not accepting me, which is not so great.

Baffling, I have your GPA and a 67 but only got 16k/year plus in-state....

I'm out-of-state, but, I'm not sure if the 21k factors in a switch to in-state tuition or not, my parents met me and I gave them the information packet to take home for me to review over break. I'll let you know around Friday when I am able to check it all out again.

I'm sure that it's about something similar.

When did you go complete? My numbers are right around yours (168/2.8 ) and I've been complete since 11/6.

They send scholarship info with your application packet. For me it arrived a little less than a week after acceptance.

I haven't been keeping track of all my status change dates or anything, but like I said I check pretty compulsively so I know if something is different. That said, here's my info from their status page:

Hang in there, man. It's looking like a good cycle for splitters. Also my LSN username is the same if you want to see my other acceptances / softs etc. As for W&M, I blew some heavy clouds of smoke up their butts to try and get that tech center gig, so that may have pushed me over the edge.

Also what's up with W&Ms dropping rank. I'm not that much of a rankings whore, but it's still kind of concerning?

From what I have read, their employment numbers declined disproportionately compared to a lot of other schools because they don't hire recent grads to fluff their numbers.

Scholarship info comes with your acceptance packet in the mail. Congrats on the acceptance!

Agree, except for the bolded. Many of the other schools in the region whose employment numbers declined less than W&M don't fluff their numbers with law school hires. W&L and Richmond both come to mind.

W&M grads took a real big hit last year, not sure why. Awaiting this year's numbers with interest.

Seriously. Since it is highly unlikely that I would get any $$ if admitted, I am kind of tempted to e-mail them about this.

I think Email/Status Checker decisions are kind of lame. Richmond does it the best. You apply, they call you back when you're in. No waiting around or constantly checking email/statuses for a decision that might not come until April.
