I was actually just going to post about that. Does anybody have any insight regarding the full scholarship and how it's awarded? LSN data is sparse; I'm wondering if I have any shot at it as a splitter.M458 wrote:If you're applying for the Law Scholars Merit Awards, the deadline is January 10th. Well, it seems to be based completely off of your numbers/admissions app/scholarship app. There's no interview like a few of the other schools have for their "named" scholarships. Did you do an alumni interview? Might be helpful to ask him/her. I emailed my interviewer yesterday to give her the news I got in and mentioned in my email that I was planning on applying to this; she didn't give me much info other than wishing me good luck and letting me know that Vandy definitely DOES negotiate scholarships, so to definitely leverage other offers.Crowing wrote:I was actually just going to post about that. In! I just got the email
170/3.4/WE.
App went complete on 11/27.
I was very worried because
1) I declined to have an interview (I live overseas).
2) I am a splitter.
Is anyone applying for the international law related scholarship??

Does anyone know what kind of numbers are generally accepted for all the full ride scholarships?

In via email this afternoon! Especially exciting since Vandy has moved up a few places on my list.
Also interested in what kind of numbers (softs?) make one competitve for a full ride. Any insights?

Still no friggin' updates since my interview. Complete 11/5, interview 12/6, silence since then. This is annoying.

Guys, chill. As evidenced in the OP, Vanderbilt hands out a spattering of acceptances around Thanksgiving, and then there isn't much movement until January. Especially for those of us with borderline/auto-reject numbers, do not expect to hear anything until after you have to start reminding yourself to write "13."

I was really excited after visiting Vandy. I wish I were one of those kids who could actually go to the school that is the 100% best fit

Re: Vanderbilt c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 Cycle)
So vandy sent me this packet today in a big white envelop w/out an acceptance letter. just a booklet. It seems really odd to send this to someone who applied. It kind of ticked me off. I'm in the denial (no pun intended) stage of grief in which I wonder whether they just forgot to put my acceptance letter in there. I know that's just TLS insanity, but.... My dates match up w/ people who heard today and Friday. Why would they do this?!?! You would think they would cross ref their lists to make sure they don't do this kind of thing! I promise I'm normally not this high strung!
For those of you admitted by mail, take pity on me and tell me if they sent you a booklet w/ the vandy law building windows on it! Thanks!

No. I got this packet, too, a few weeks after my app went complete. Acceptances come in black boxes, or, as has been happening over the past few weeks since it appears they have run out until after the Christmas break, email.rabbitrun wrote:So vandy sent me this packet today in a big white envelop w/out an acceptance letter. just a booklet. Everyone gets this when they apply! I think it says (or warns you) in an email that a viewbook is coming once you apply. I had the same reaction you did, though!rabbitrun wrote:So vandy sent me this packet today in a big white envelop w/out an acceptance letter. just a booklet. anyone with similar numbers to a 167 and a 3.8 hear yet?
Completed everything, including my interview, during the week of thanksgiving..
paranoid about a rejection letter coming in the mail for Christmas
Speaking of, how do they let you know you're rejected? Email?

I just had an interview with Christina Williams via Skype. It was really low-key and casual. She asked "Why Law"/"Why Vanderbilt" and a question about an internship. She was incredibly nice and let me know that Vandy reimburses travel expenses (or at least airfare) when visiting.

Pretty sure that airfare reimbursement is targeted, right?florida1949 wrote:I just had an interview with Christina Williams via Skype. It was really low-key and casual. Dunno but I got the same offer. They reimburse flights for ASW or, if you can't make it then, for any time of your choosing, plus partial hotel reimbursement if a student host can't be found. Pretty damn generous offer.letitloose wrote:Pretty sure that airfare reimbursement is targeted, right?florida1949 wrote:I just had an interview with Christina Williams via Skype.
