Not true! The Knicks also have a player from Stanford (Landry Fields) so unfortunately their Knicks placement is only equal to Stanford's. Only that combination of awesomeness could provide us with the nerdiest and most amazing handshake in professional sports history: http://www.mercurynews.com/breaking-news/ci_19922449WhiteGuy5 wrote:I know WHICH IS WHY I SAID THE KNICKS. Does anyone know who HLS considers an international student? I did not go to High school here and still do not have a citizenship. Do you think I can play an "international student" card?

I meant that when I write my LOCI would it be appropriate to reinstate my foreign background (I did not really mention anything about immigration in my PS).

HLS should already know you're not a US citizen from your application. As for discussing your international background in your LOCI, I don't think it'll affect your chances.EvelynS wrote:soj wrote:What do you mean by this?EvelynS wrote:Does anyone know who HLS considers an international student? An international student (to Harvard) is a student that does not have US citizenship or permanent US residency.
Soj is right Harvard should already know you are international. If you wanted to use this to your advantage it should have been explored in a diversity statement.
In your LOCI/why harvard, if being international somehow significantly affected your decision to apply to harvard you can mention it. But I don't know how it would.
I have never actually read a 'Why Harvard" that would be interesting. I think mine would go like this:
"Why Harvard? Is that a trick question...just let me in"

Beat me to it, not to mention Fields had a better night than Lin against Minnesota. Dropping sports knowledge is always highly respected and appreciated.yankees42789 wrote:Not true! I may have found myself a new friend at Harvard already.

So it seems as though auto-admits who have submitted later and haven't been held have been getting JS1 emails. Hopefully this means that they'll move on to the held pile soon!

Re: HELD @ HARVARD 2012 style
Yeah, when I looked at a Harvard blog post from I think last year (but it may have been a couple of years back) they said they started to accept off the hold list 3rd week of Feb. So, this sounds right if they finish up interviews this week, and start looking at holds the next couple of weeks.sharktankdean wrote:We've seen 3 straight business days of js1s hopefully they get done with all of them this week and get back to us next week.

Perusing last years hold thread, around this time was when the first held applicants began to receive word.yepyepyep wrote:Yeah, when I looked at a Harvard blog post from I think last year (but it may have been a couple of years back) they said they started to accept off the hold list 3rd week of Feb. Re: HELD @ HARVARD 2012 style
I think it'll be the end of next week (2/24 ish) or the beginning of the week after (2/27 or 2/28). Last year a few people who were held got accepted in early March. So I guess they would have to have interviewed a week or so before then. But everything has been happening late this cycle, so who really knows?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
