Hey guys, Where on BLS Connect does it give scholarship info if there would be any? My personal profile has a whole bunch of categories but I can't click on any of them. Thanks in advance.

So....I found that info in a link that was e-mailed to me; it would be the e-mail that you received letting you know that you have a scholarship offer. You put in the same log-in info that you use for BLS Connect and then, since you are an admitted student, select the green 'applicants' button (above a red 'students' (or something) button). There will then be a drop-down box with which you can select the year that you're looking for, and you should see your scholarship offers then.lushes3 wrote:Hey guys, Where on BLS Connect does it give scholarship info if there would be any? Hey everyone just got admitted to BLS with 26k a year and was wondering if anyone had any luck with negotiations with them so far?
I have offers of 30k/yr from Tulane and 25k/yr from UMN and U Bama and Emory. LSAT 168 and GPA 3.53
Sent a letter about 5 days ago in an attempt to negotiate still no reply.

I tried to negotiate up my scholarship and was told there was no more money at this time to raise it, i already had a pretty extensive offer though.AD10390 wrote:Hey everyone just got admitted to BLS with 26k a year and was wondering if anyone had any luck with negotiations with them so far?

I just withdrew for this very reason. I'll take my higher offer from Tulane.scram202 wrote:I tried to negotiate up my scholarship and was told there was no more money at this time to raise it, i already had a pretty extensive offer though.AD10390 wrote:Hey everyone just got admitted to BLS with 26k a year and was wondering if anyone had any luck with negotiations with them so far?

We have a current status date change! Still in review but very excited to hear a decision soon. Anyone know if Brooklyn keeps the Deposit information on the side the whole cycle or if that's a sign of acceptance?

My status date changed today as well. Hoping for some good news soon! and as for the deposit info, that has been there for a while so I'm pretty confident that it has nothing to do with their final decision.quiksilver21af wrote:We have a current status date change! Why is there such negativity towards BLS and what seems like the very similar Cardozo?
I've read a ton of posts from what appear to be 0L's that seem to know exactly what everyone should do. Basically it's big law or don't go to LS unless you are on 100% scholarship.
I got into BLS part-time and now I'm considering not going because of the negative propaganda. Too much internet today...

Don't let them get you down. The boom times are over, but law school is still a good move if you're genuinely motivated to be an attorney, get admitted to a school that has an established good name in your target market, and keep your debt down to manageable levels.DTDT wrote:Why is there such negativity towards BLS and what seems like the very similar Cardozo?

Don't let it get you down. I did my 1L at Brooklyn and I loved it (I transferred up, but that's not a reflection of BLS, more of my desire to take on more debt, lol). The professors are excellent, and the school works very hard to make connections to various government offices/judges/firms. It's definitely true that you need to be in the top portion of your class to get a job, but that's just how it is outside the T14. That being said, I know at plenty of people who got offers from biglaw for their 2L summer, and many more who are working for mid/small firms.DTDT wrote:Why is there such negativity towards BLS and what seems like the very similar Cardozo?

Re: Brooklyn Law School C/O 2015
Thx for the supporting words.
Just wanted to pass along info to those curious about merit scholarships. This year in order to get a BLS merit scholarship your LSAT score must exceed BLS median score of 162. They are more willing to negotiate after May when seats are spoken for and then will decide how best to spend the money. Rewrite for the LSAT and they will consider upsizing your offer. That may be worth it to those that are on the cusp due to cost and have some time to bump up the score. FWIW.

I'm in sock! Logged on to check for a status date update and today I've been accepted! applied april 1. Crazy.
They haven't emailed me or anything... Hope they can offer me funding, now I'll be checking email all day to find out! Is there scholarship information avaiable on status checker?
Good luck all waiting!! I completely expected to be on the hook till June. (for medical reasons I applied very late because I didn't want to apply until I was healthy enough to commit to going. This is incredible news)
Good luck to all <3

How long after admission did you guys receive scholly info?
Would strongly consider attending with substantial $ but I haven't gotten anything yet.
Was admitted yesterday.
Also - did you guys receive a phone call for either?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Brooklyn Law School C/O 2015
I got wait listed.
Anyone know about how I could help my chances with getting off the wait list? Im thinking about taking the LSAT again. My numbers are 158 and a 3.15. Do I have a realistic shot of getting picked up or should I just retake? I got into Rutgers-Newark, Miami and St.John's but would really rather stay in New York.
Also, if I tell them I prefer to go part-time do you think that would help my chances?

Queens, to most NY residents, is outside of New York [city].
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
