Re: Missouri Class of 2015
Well I'm down to watch the game if there's a following. Also is there anyone already living in Columbia that has input on housing (pricing, location, etc.)?

Ok, got the test moved.
Looking forward to meeting you all. Any idea where people are going to watch the game at?

Like I said, for those who are going, could you let us know how it went?

Quick question. After re-reading my scholarship letter it says that I got the out-of-state tuition waiver and an additional $18,000 scholarship...does that pretty much makes it a full-scholarship?

That certainly appears to be a full ride.

Make sure it's $18k per year and not $18k spread over three years. Still a good scholarship.LAFish wrote:Quick question. Oh, good point, I just looked at mine and it is stated as a 3 year total, not per year.

As for where to watch the game:
There are several places within about 5-10 minute walking distance:
Campus Bar
Quentin's
Heidelberg
Bengals
probably a few more
assume they'll all be crowded. The Berg doesn't have too many TVs. Neither does Quentin's. Bengals will have a large outdoor area and all of them will have pretty darn good specials, I'd imagine.

For those of you who went yesterday, how was the event?

Re: Missouri Class of 2015
I would get the event overall a 5.0. I only say this because of all the people that brought their parents. I give Mizzou a 10 overall for the event. They fed us and the small seminars were nice. However, my main intent of going yesterday was to be able to socialize with people that I will potentially have to be with for the next 3 years. I don't think it was a total fail because yesterday has me leaning towards the school more, but if I could have determined whether the majority of the people were douches or cool would of helped me make a final decision. Anyone else want to chime in?lakerinstl wrote:For those of you who went yesterday, how was the event?

Re: Missouri Class of 2015
I had a nice time. I felt like I had a pretty good idea about Mizzou, but it was still worth driving down for. I really got a good vibe from the current students. I've made a lot of visits, but I think the people at Mizzou seem to be the most easy going. Whether or not that is a good thing for law school is a different issue, but they seem nice for the most part.

Re: Missouri Class of 2015
I had a good time yesterday. I thought the financial aid guy was waaaaay less boring than the ones I've hear the finances spill from recently! I also was shocked at the amount of people there with hovering parents! I must confess my mom came with me BUT she dropped me off and went shopping for the vast majority of the day. She came back and went in the "how to support your law student" session. She came out saying, "these parents do realize their children are grown a** adults, right?" She shared some of the questions from parents and we both had a great laugh and I realized once again how thankful I am that my mom has settled firmly into a "friend" role and doesn't do the whole overprotective, hovering thing.juicyj wrote:I would get the event overall a 5.0. I got a chance at the reception to speak with a couple professors and really enjoyed meeting each of them. The students I did interact with (i.e. the ones who didn't have mommy or daddy attached to their hips) were cool and I'm heavily leaning towards Mizzou now!

Looks like I'm 99% sure it's gonna be Mizzou for me. Visiting the school in April.

Just paid my seat deposit, so I guess that makes it official for me. Hope to see any of you that are going to Mizzou in the fall.

If you haven't heard (which you probably haven't since I just found out), Mizzou Law has a new Dean.
