We just got the announcement that we're going to have a pretty exciting visitor come to our campus next academic year.
For those of you coming to L&C, Chief Justice John Roberts will be part of your 1L experience.

I got an update today as well. It's my third "complete date".
According to last year's thread, decisions were coming at the 4th complete date.

Good to know...at least we have some sort of timeframe to expect a decision!

Accepted via u.s. mail (LSN /naw for numbas)! $15,000/year + 2.95 stip! $400 travel stipend to March 22/23 Reception! Just made flight reservations and booked a room at the Modera!
Whew, I need to catch my breath. I'm legitimately excited to meet (and have a drink with) those of you who will be there in March.

Hm, I have an updated completion date. Also, there are random dates from September 2011 in the "mailings" part, and I did not apply until January. I think that the system must still have a few glitches...

In via snail mail yesterday. 8k/year with 2.95 stipend.

Complete Again 01/12/2012
Accepted via snail mail 01/25/2012
No change to tracker since 01/12/2012
Assuming I get denied from my many reaches, this may be my top choice... As long as I can justify taking out around 140k in loans ... gulp

Have you retaken the LSAT? 140k in debt seems too steep for L&C with the job prospects. You'll be living a life where you're paying off your debt for a long, long time and a salary of most likely $50-70k. However, if law school is something you're truly set on, then go for it, but personally, I'd be hesitant to take out that large a loan for L&C (and pretty much any other school outside of the top 8 or so).

Median for c/o 2009 in the private sector, right after the markets collapsed, is $83k:
EDIT: the link won't work. just go to LST's data clearinghouse and select L&C
That's not a mean average. Somebody in the middle actually made that amount.

The only reference to John Roberts posted within the past year on the L&C website is here:
http://law.lclark.edu/live/news/13325-l ... o-national
ETA: and is decidedly not about John Roberts taking part in any 1L experiences.

Well the law markets aren't what they were even 2 years ago. Like I said, more power to them, I'd just personally be very hesitant to take out such a large debt burden. But I hope I'm wrong and they make a crapload of money and that by 2015 the economy is rolling and we're all getting 100k out of school

Nice. This might be the first time I've waited for mail and not cursed the local post office for always being a day or 2 behind. I really hope my decision is in this wave.
Also:
unless I absolutely fall in love w/Denver I will go here.
nice update. this is pretty close to where I'm at too, but I'm also giving seattle a chance.

un-vordox - I am in the same boat. I really hope my decision comes in this wave. Unfortunately, things are not looking good - nothing in the mail yet and I live only a few miles from the school.

100% agreed, but i would be surprised if the legal market took so long to adjust to the 2008 meltdown that the class of 2009 didn't feel the worst effects overall. i guess the new data will tell all this year.
