Unfortunately, no one will hear from them until after Thanksgiving.

Look at last years LSN for when people started to hear back. They started hearing back on Monday before Thanksgiving. It could be the same this year, or it could be different. But that's the most reliable thing we have to go off of right now..

Yea I think it's been like that for at least two years. I know a 2L who used to work at my firm and she said she heard before Thanksgiving her year two. I just got told from the admissions office that they were having issues back when I called in September but hopefully everything got sorted out and they're still on the usual schedule.freestallion wrote:Look at last years LSN for when people started to hear back. Still not under review even though they received my application 10/26. Will calling them just be annoying? Is it normal for it to take this long before going UR?

Probably would be; but that's odd seeing as I submitted a week and a half after you and went UR a few days ago.fingerscrossedxx wrote:Still not under review even though they received my application 10/26. Will calling them just be annoying? Is it normal for it to take this long before going UR?

Under review 11/14 after submitting the application on 11/3.
I didn't do a supplemental statement but it's way too late to send one now.

My numbers suck and I'm IR, so I wouldn't worry about it.gaud wrote:maybe this has something to do with stats? i submitted on 10/30 (maybe 10/31) and i have yet to go UR too

Hmmm, maybe. I'm just concerned because everything in the status checker is checked off except "LSAT scores". I don't mind waiting but I just want to make sure they're not waiting on anything from me.gaud wrote:FryBreadPower wrote:Probably would be; but that's odd seeing as I submitted a week and a half after you and went UR a few days ago.fingerscrossedxx wrote:Still not under review even though they received my application 10/26. Have you gone complete yet? If not I would probably call them and see what the 'hold-up' is. I submitted after you (only a few days) and went complete on 11/10

No, it just says "We have recieved your application". I think I will give them a quick call.gaud wrote:fingerscrossedxx wrote:Hmmm, maybe. I would if I were you. It's not like you have anything to lose by calling and chances are it will relieve some stress

Re: Berkeley c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
It's a good thing I did call. Apparently in their system I'm registered for this December's LSAT. I told them I am not, and now she's updated it and I should be going under review soon.gaud wrote:fingerscrossedxx wrote:No, it just says "We have recieved your application". aaaand with that I'm realising that I put the date I took the LSAT as Dec 2011 instead of Dec 2010 for ALL the law schools that asked me. I'm already complete/under review everywhere else though so hopefully they figured it out and won't count it against me!

What is the general feeling behind submitting a why berkeley after submitting an application? Frowned upon?
Recent conversations with Berkeley Alumni have given me some new insight into why it might be the perfect place.

Generally what I've heard is that since Berkeley has a 4pp PS limit, people tend to tailor it to fit Berkeley instead of a separate essay (this is what I did).wannagotolaw wrote:What is the general feeling behind submitting a why berkeley after submitting an application? Frowned upon?

I left my PS at 2 pages, but with .5 margins and 11pt font.. other wise it would be 4 pgs. But I also wrote a "why Berkeley" that was 2 pages
