Went complete on 09/19...still waiting to hear back...
Seems to be a lull in admissions activity.
Hoping to hear news by the end of this week.

for ED does UVA take three weeks to reply back? (this is assuming they mean 15 BUSINESS days)

It seems that in the past, the turnover was much faster (1-4 days), but this cycle, they are taking longer(between 8-11 days).
And personally, I feel like they would specify business days in their binding statement contract if that's what they meant.

When I log into status checker- I don't see any status (i.e. complete, ready for review etc.). Am I missing something? Applying RD fwiw

It seems as if they are working one group of ED applicants at a time. That is why you get a flurry of activity and then nothing.
Also, to comment on the 15 day turn around: I don't think you can really complain about 15 business days or 15 calendar days. UVA is still getting back to ED applicants faster than any other school out there.

ED qualifier was there, minus one for Yeshia90. Only you special PT folks get that quick decision. Punks...Yeshia90 wrote:Except for Duke.ThomasMN wrote:It seems as if they are working one group of ED applicants at a time. That is why you get a flurry of activity and then nothing.

Your application for admission to the University of Virginia School of Law is complete. If you would like to learn more information about how Admissions Office decisions are communicated to applicants, please read the Frequently Asked Question (FAQs) on the U.Va. Law website (http://www.law.virginia.edu/admissions). Binding Expedited Decision applicants will hear back from us within 15 days of when the application became complete and Virginia residency has been finalized. Regular Decision applicants will likely hear from us starting in January.

Re: UVA c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Anyone know if it is possible this year to switch an (already-submitted) RD application to ED?
That seemed to be a common practice at U.Va. last year.

According to a woman that I spoke to in UVA admissions last week, yes this is possible by printing the ED contract and sending it to them. However, she said that switching the application to the ED pile needs to be approved by the admissions committee. This approval thing seems to be a new practice this year and she didn't really go into detail as to what's grounds for approval or denial.so_fetch wrote:Anyone know if it is possible this year to switch an (already-submitted) RD application to ED?

I was accepted today via a phone call around noon. Couldn't be happier to be a member of the UVA Law class of 2015.
For those interested I applied ED 09/21. I am sure that we will hear of a few other acceptances today or in the next few days.
