Thanks so much for sharing! I wish I was on the preferred waitlist too, instead of the regular one... grrrrrrrrrrrr good luck to all of us!

It basically said most on the preferred waitlist usually get accepted once seats open up. There was no need to add that line in the letter, so I believe them. Unfortunately, they referenced visiting the school as something that would aid in acceptance. But I am out of state, so that's not as realistic unless they paid for my visit. Anyone with experience familiar w/ the "preferred waitlist" process?

Got the same letter yesterday and I too think the language is interesting.
Are you going to remain on the list and do anything extra to gain acceptance?

For what it's worth I was on the preferred waitlist last cycle after applying last minute and eventually got the call in the middle of May.

Anyone else get the email about submitting a fafsa by their "priority deadline" and has already submitted a fafsa?

Yes, I immediately replied, saying I had already submitted, and the Dean said that the email went out to all admitted students, and so I should disregard.

So I am officially on a "waitlist" not the cute "preferred waitlist" just the plain old, nasty waitlist...so what are the odds of us fellow regular waitlist(ers) getting in? honestly, after they accept whoever knows how many people they have in that preferred list that there will be spots for us mere mortals. Forgive the drama; I feel as if the situation (no relation to Mike Sorrentino) demands a bit of it  maybe they really liked our applications but felt bad denying us right away...

If you're willing to pay close to sticker, you'll prob be able to get in b/c I doubt most accepted people are willing to go to Maryland without money.

Does anyone know the time frame for a reply if you're preferred waitlisted? Does anyone know how many people are on this list compared to the regular waitlist?

Did anyone get a message from Dean Haddon about the Leadership Scholars Program? I just got any email a moment ago? Need some clarity.

Not me. The only Leadership Scholars Program emails I've received recently were the ones reminding me of deadlines and to fax in my commitment to attend the interviews.

What did your email say / what kind of clarification are you looking for?

Up until now I have not gotten any email about this program. I called and asked if I was being considered and they said I needed to check my acceptance package, which had nothing about this program. What are the deadlines that I am sure not incompliance with.

For me, personally, my interview for this program (scholarships) is being held on April 1st.

There was a letter included in my acceptance packet that told me I was being considered (it's at home, so I can't quote anything). I also received several emails from Katrin Hussmann (Assistant Director of Admissions). I had a deadline in Feb. which required me to write them to let them know if I was interested in attending/participating. Currently have another deadline at the end of this week to submit my commitment form to attend.

When were you accepted? Is it possible the letter was meant to be included but was lost/overlooked? It might be worth it to email Katrin (if you haven't done so already, which you may have) and ask her directly; she's the one I've been in contact with and has been very helpful.

Sticking my withdrawal letter in the mail today. I cannot wait around until the summer to see what if any money I get from this Leadership Scholars Program, especially when I have sure money elsewhere.

Good luck to the rest of you!!

Good luck, and please let me know how it goes. I was able to chat in the last one, but I'm at work atm and the firewall is in full swing here.

I was UR from 1/14 up until today where a decision made, so it should only be a little while longer!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
