Sweet! Congrats on finally getting a decision sent! I think Baylor may be having a UW moment... I show decision sent 02/28 in the status checker, but nothing in the Mailings section. I called Suzy and she said she is the one that mails the letters, and the 02/28 letters haven't made it to her yet. Though, she did seem to be happy to give a decision over the phone if she had them.
Yeah I don't have anything under mailings either, so that means it hasn't been mailed yet just that a decision has been made?
That would seem to be the case...
I guess unless you were following the UW thread, the question posed may seem ridiculous... but, given our vested interest in UW and our dedicated following of that thread, it is a good question.

From what I got from Suzy, once she processes the letters to be sent, it should show up under the Mailings section.

You should call them and tell them that you've been waiting for a decision for 6 months now, and demand they tell you.
Didn't really work for me. I advised Suzy I had been waiting since October and I really needed to know because the summer term is right around the quarter and I needed to know. She was willing to give me the decision, but stated she didn't even have the letters yet, so she couldn't see if I'd been accepted/rejected. She told me to call back Friday if I hadn't received the letter by then.

haha I would if I cared that much about the decision, but it's not going to be a game changer for me as I'll still be 99.9% at UF in the fall. I just want an answer after they made me wait so freaking long. How is it that UT waitlists me before I even hear a peep from Baylor??? Makes no sense.

So the "status" won't actually indicate whether you've been admitted, but only says that the decision letter has been mailed?

Right, I copied and pasted that.

Thank you! I was hoping this whole experience of waiting to hear something from law schools would be a lesson in patience, but if I've learned anything, it's that I'm even less patient than I initially believed. Thanks again!

Also, the trick that someone mentioned earlier about being able to tell if you've been admitted by checking the "Pay Enrollment Deposit" area doesn't work. My decision was made on the 16th, and even though I was accepted, I still can't get into that section. Not sure what's up with that...

Mostly a lurker, but I feel the need to comment on this thread...

Nearly six months ago when I applied to Baylor, I really liked it. I liked the website, all the admission material, and the facilities looked gorgeous. I even wrote a "Why Baylor." I was above their 75th in both LSAT and GPA, so I thought I'd be a shoo-in... And given a solid scholarship, I probably would have deposited.

And then I waited...

After two months, I decided to visit. I did the full dog-and-pony show, asked all the right questions on a rather lackluster tour, and had a long discussion with Dean Beck-Chollett. The building is lovely, as is often mentioned, but my God, Waco was not what I expected. When I asked if there was a legal market in Waco for summer associate positions, since I'm married and have kids, I was told that most students in my situation rent an apartment in Dallas or Austin and see their family on weekends. Wrong answer.

And then I waited...

Another two months passed and I called Suzy to see if their was a problem with my file. No, it's complete, and yes, they have my correct LSATs and GPAs. I was told just to wait. Thanks.

And then I waited some more...

Now we're in March, I have an SMU acceptance in my pocket (with scholarship), an acceptance to a T25 (also with scholarship), and many other great schools as well. My wait has also allowed me time to find out about Baylor's less-than-pleasant reputation as a unnecessary pressure-cooker. But like my first love, I have this morbid fascination with Baylor. Why won't they accept me? Why have I had to wait this long? Seriously, what was the deal? Honestly, in a very strange way, I feel let down by a school that I was initially so excited about...

Good luck to all of you, but I'm giving them another week until I withdraw my application without a decision.

If you don't mind me asking, what are your numbers?

Also, the fact that they gave you an honest answer about the summer situation can be viewed as a positive, although not necessarily on that outweighs the negative that was the answer.

Also, I am not sure how seriously I would take being able to log in or not the admitted students portal. I was got an admission letter last week with the decision date as 2/16 and I still cannot log in.

165/3.78

My apologies, my LSAT is above their 75th, but my GPA is only above their median. Still think my frustration/confusion is justified.

Wow, that's weird. My numbers are way worse (161, 3.4) and I was accepted. Your numbers do make you sound like a shoo in. But with an acceptance and money at SMU, I wouldn't care much about Baylor's response.

I don't think they do YP. I have a 169/3.74, and have never really showed any interest in them (no visit, no why essay, etc) and they gave me a full tuition scholly in the first batch of admissions. I have no idea why they wouldn't have jumped on you if you showed that kind of interest in them. Sorry, but TCR is bolded above.

Definitely understand that. That's really frustrating. You need to take SMU up on their offer :) which T25.. if you don't mind me asking?

What the hell. I applied in November. I would like a decision. The deposit deadlines are approaching. This is getting rather ridiculous.

Either the Baylor admissions office is horribly unorganized, or they have an over-inflated sense of their school's worth. To take 6 months to issue decisions to some people, and 1 month for others, is unacceptable.

+1, but I'm less inclined to really care after finding out more concerning their program.
