Congrats guys! You're all going to love Pittsburgh. Haters are gonna hate, but for an economically-challenged post-industrial city of 300,000, Pittsburgh is an extremely pleasant place to spend three years: there are great restaurants, lots of cultural attractions and recreation opportunities, and the cost of living can't be beat. The only thing that does suck is the weather.

How is the crime and cleanliness in Pittsburgh? If you're not sure, then perhaps just the UPitt law neighborhood?

I am from Pittsburgh and have a fairly general answer to your question. I don't think cleanliness is a problem, even though many people still think of Pittsburgh as "the steel city". Of course you will have some litter, but for the most part, especially the part of the city Pitt is in (Oakland), the city is pretty clean. Crime is not really a problem, again especially around Oakland. As with many other cities, Pittsburgh does have neighborhoods that have a higher amount of crime, but most people have no reason to wonder to these neighborhoods especially at night.

I'm serious onthe roommate comment though. I know no one in Pitt I'm wanting to live in a nicer place and I am clean and a male (obviously). Facebook me "James Damian" or pm me
Haha...I would offer man...but I am married so that would be really awkward.

Except for the absolute worst neighborhoods, Pittsburgh has a very low crime rate.

The city itself is fairly clean, but the air quality is not the best. I've never had any issue, but I also don't have any pre-existing respiratory problems. Seasonal allergies are a bitch for me in the spring, but it's no worse for me in Pittsburgh than other Northeastern cities.

Thanks for the responses, guys.

I only went under review yesterday. I'm curious as to the time it takes to make a decision.
