Congrats...did you go to Maryville College?J. Galt wrote:I got my acceptance phone call today. The lady said that they had officially accepted me about 30 minutes before she called, and that they were mailing out a packet for me today as well. My status checker still is not updated, which is ironic considering how frequently I have been checking it... why do they even have one? Anyway, good luck to others. They said scholarship money was still a work in progress, but I will be applying for some external scholarships regardless. My numbers are 3.45/161, non-URM, in-state (Maryville), so I think I might have to go here for the cheap tuition. Does anyone know what sort of numbers it takes to get even a little bit of scholarship money?

It looks like 160 or 161 might be the magic number, according to LSN, but they may or may not be out of staters. Who knows how much, if any, they give to us in-staters.

I think you're right (btw - congrats on the acceptance!). I was offered 10k a year but I'm OOS. I wish I could trade the scholarship for IS tuition, it'd be cheaper and I wouldn't have to worry about the scholarship requirements.enida10 wrote:It looks like 160 or 161 might be the magic number, according to LSN, but they may or may not be out of staters. Hopefully they will have a little scholarship money for us instaters, but if not, I figure I might be able to get an external scholarship, and I am eligible for a pretty decent subsidized loan. In the end, it's so much cheaper than anywhere else I am considering.

Cool, I graduated from there in '08. I'm not going to be greedy and ask for a scholarship, I just want an admitJ. Do you know if they're having an admitted students day?
I went to UTK for a year and a half before I transfered out to where the under grad was free. I also know a few UTK law graduates. From what I gather, factoring in instate tuition, UT is a great place to go to school.
However, I did live at Volunteer Studios. DON'T live there. It's scary. Drugs and gangsters scary. And they have a major cockroach problem.
This time around I'm getting a housing upgrade.

I got a postcard a few weeks back saying the admitted students day is April 1st. A bit late if you ask me. Also I'm instate and got 7,000/yr with a 166/3.95...ouch. Will likely be withdrawing soon, so hopefully that goes to one of you all!

Probably Wake Forest or W&L. I honestly had my heart set on UT when I started applying...I'm from TN but went out of state for undergrad and I miss the mountains! Knoxville is a really great city for young professionals and the law school seems pretty awesome. I just can't justify paying more to go there than I would be paying at Wake or W&L!enida10 wrote:Where do you think you'll go, if you don't mind me asking?brooksrun wrote: I got a postcard a few weeks back saying the admitted students day is April 1st. Yeah, I've applied to WUSTL, UGA, UT, GA state, and Miami. I've been accepted to Miami and UT so far. I kind of have my heart set on UGA, but with my numbers... but TN is a great second!
Good luck at W&L or Wake! And thanks for the re-donation to our potential scholarship fund.

Thanks! I'm hoping for the best, but I've been saying waitlist all along and I'd be very surprised by an acceptance. I sent a LOCI this morning and when I saw my status change just hours later, I became extremely excited. Then I saw that someone else's status updated today as well. Fingers crossed!enida10 wrote:Good luck!!! Let us know how it goes! The day mine changed I got the call, so...

Good luck. I felt like I was on the cusp, but the fact that it was updated today makes me feel optimistic since a lot of people were admitted towards the end of the last weekEricBerry wrote:Thanks! That GPA is rough but I bet they'd be willing to take the hit since your LSAT is well above their medianpballer wrote:2.4/167 instate, applied 12/23, in review 1/12, first update of date to in review 2/21 =/

Good luck guys! 160, 3.0 in-state with an extreme upward grade trend and work experience. Are you guys assuming that everyone who was updated today is getting the same decision? If so, it looks like we're either the first waitlists or the last batch of acceptances. Praying for the latter. GBO VFL V,B
EDIT: Should we for sure be getting decisions by the end of the week? Could it be a few days before we find out?

Kind of my assumption as well. As far as your edit, most people last week got a call the day their status checker was updated so I would think earlier rather than laterEricBerry wrote:Good luck guys! 160, 3.0 in-state with an extreme upward grade trend and work experience. Not to be a downer, but some people before our "group" had to wait 3 or 4 days before they got their answer. And it is President's Day...
But I think sooner rather than later is a good sum up.

That worries me. It'll be 5 PM in Knoxville in 10 minutes. But it is encouraging that none of the people ITT who have been updated have numbers that are auto-reject. We're all pretty much borderline, so that's why I'm saying either last acceptances or first waitlists.jaymaynard wrote:Kind of my assumption as well. That's actually pretty encouraging because we didn't get calls today. My concern is the decision, not the wait!enida10 wrote:Not to be a downer, but some people before our "group" had to wait 3 or 4 days before they got their answer. And it is President's Day...
