I emailed Karla and got a response: They're starting to release fin aid letters today.

WE DEMAND DETAILS
+1

By "letters" I hope she means "emails."

EDIT: Not that expect to be in the first batch of fin aid decisions if I am in a batch at all.

Haha. Yeah. I'm thinking "DETAILS PLZ" and then realizing that it's doubtful she would have said anything beyond that.

did you check and make sure that she didn't accidentally attach an excel spreadsheet detailing everyone's offers?

I am hopeful that they are working late (only 5:30 central time). Otherwise this would be 3+ times that they have said letters were going out next day/today and it hasn't happened.

From twitter:
"We expect most financial aid letters out w/in the next week. Our process is very individualized and FA Comm is still preparing decisions."

As long as they come out before March I am cool with it, honestly.

Seriously, what the fuck. I'd be cool with getting my financial aid package in March, but if you're going to do that, Chicago, don't promise it to me by early February.

Despite what was posted yesterday:
protokurios wrote:I emailed Karla and got a response: They're starting to release fin aid letters today.
Are we assuming Chicago's post on twitter yesterday of "We expect most financial aid letters out w/in the next week. Our process is very individualized and FA Comm is still preparing decisions." means nothing until next week? I am extremely frustrated at this point, but I like Chicago too much to stay angry for long.

I just want to get on with my life. Since I started studying for the LSAT about 15 months ago it's become more and more of an obsession.

Did anyone else get an e-mail from a professor today? I got an e-mail from Saul Levrmore today regarding how I would fit in in his torts class. While I'm absolutely flattered that they seem so personalized about the admissions and wooing process, I'm also skeptical as to whether this e-mail was as personalized as it seems to be.

What say you guys?

I got one two days ago from another prof. I imagine the same email goes out to everyone who has indicated an interest in the same areas of law--still somewhat personalized, but I doubt we're the only ones who received our emails. Of course this is just speculation...

No email for me either.

I visited recently, and it's pretty clear that professors take much more interest in students at Chicago than at other schools.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
