I believe the highest-ranked person in their admissions office is called an Assistant Dean, actually. Kenneth Kleinrock. He signs the admissions letters.Core wrote:Anybody know who NYU Law's dean of admissions is?

Re: NYU 2010
I met him on Thursday. He was at the admitted students event in LA with Dean Ricky. He, apparently, is also in charge of Financial Aid. He seemed to be Dean Ricky's right hand man/ guy who does the dirty work. Very nice gentleman thoughBenJ wrote:I believe the highest-ranked person in their admissions office is called an Assistant Dean, actually. Kenneth Kleinrock. Saw a giant envelope in my mailbox today. I got excited and thought it was from NYU... and then l I realized it was Michigan's "Curriculum" mailing. Such a dramatic moment lol.

So... if we haven't been accepted by this point, I assume this means we're not under scholarship consideration?

I think RTKs have mostly gone out at this point. Can't say about the others but I would assume no $$.
How much longer is the 'check-the-admitted-students-login-every-wed-afternoon' routine going to continue? I'm getting bored with this all...

Re: NYU 2010
So NYU generally waits until late April and then suddenly waitlists or rejects everyone who has been waiting for several months? For instance, I applied in October and still haven't heard a word beyond being complete. Even though they know they're going to waitlist me, given that they accept people regularly in the order in which they apply, they're going to wait til April to do it? Is there any REASON for this beyond sadistic pleasure?

Re: NYU 2010
i got the "so delighted...application received" email on 2/9 - i'm not complete yet right? they send a separate notice? i'm also a PR but I think I totally bombed my chances at a purple envelope thanks to a FOB-y mistake on my personal statement ("meet" instead of "met"). I only caught it after sending it to four schools. +∞CG614 wrote:Thanks! Complete on 2/9... I am an URM, Puerto Rican to be exact. I have some pretty interesting softs. Application received 2/9. Never went complete. Letter of acceptance dated 2/23.
Very pleased, but there was no invitation to apply for scholarships (as I believe others have gotten).

Re: NYU 2010
The invitation to the Dean's scholarship came via email separately from the offer of admission. In any case, the deadline for submitting the merit aid application has passed (was 2/24).split22 wrote:Application received 2/9. Never went complete. Letter of acceptance dated 2/23.

I'm a little upset about it too, considering both of us have a decently high index for NYU. I hope not getting the application doesn't mean we are ineligible to receive merit aid, because I will need some =/.split22 wrote:Application received 2/9. Never went complete. I'm sure NYU would match your 60k at Chicago even if they end up not giving you a dean's scholarship.Kronk wrote:I'm a little upset about it too, considering both of us have a decently high index for NYU. That would be amazing. Easy decision at that point, tough one now.BenJ wrote:I'm sure NYU would match your 60k at Chicago even if they end up not giving you a dean's scholarship.Kronk wrote:I'm a little upset about it too, considering both of us have a decently high index for NYU. Re: NYU 2010
Is it completely foolish of me to ask NYU to reconsider my rejection given my Feb LSAT of 174 (up from 165)? Worst they can say is no... which they already have.
I know they say they don't accept the Feb LSAT but other schools are making this exception for me.
Thanks.
