I've already had chance to talk to Grace about what I can do off the waitlist, etc...any suggestions of other questions I can/should ask, or basically how to make the most of a 2nd visit without seeing overly desperate (don't get me wrong, I totally am

Care to pm what she recommended? I'm not on the uva waitlist but want to know for other schools what kinds of things they want to see

Tried to get UVA to up their 18k/yr offer to something closer to Michigan (Darrow). No bump.
Negotiation attempt failed. Now 0/2.

Dude, Darrow at Michigan is an incredible outcome. I would take that and run in a heartbeat.

Darrow is full tuition plus stipend. Even if UVA tripled their original offer, it wouldn't be close. They are comparable schools. Why even consider UVA?

No school has given me anywhere close to the offer Michigan has (excluding Villanova which is ranked like 90). I guess I like the idea of having options? Also I like UVA's government placement.Idk. I feel some sort of need to play out my whole hand.
Debating if it's worth it to try negotiating with Berkeley, NYU, and Chicago. I'm gonna guess not.

1 killer option is better than 3 or 4 good ones, which I can say with full confidence because I have several objectively "good" or even "great" offers at similar schools, and would kill to have just 1 full-ride. Worth it to negotiate for sure, but I'd pack for Ann Arbor if I were you.

Just reject me already. T14 is a dream for me but I've got a solid offer from a pretty strong Top 35 regional school for $35k/yr less than UVA sticker.

Went UR2 today after having been in UR1 since 12/16 (IIRC). Should I expect a decision soon?

UR2 today as well. I've seen/heard that UR2 isn't necessarily a good or bad sign, just a sign that something will happen soon.

Hopping on that finally UR2 train (haven't changed since 12/1). Regardless of the decision, I'm happy that there's movement at all!

This many status updates all at once... the mass waitlisting's about to begin, isn't it?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
