This wait is painful!
2 days left.. 16 hours of open business at the admissions committee office.
Hypothetical envelope with hypothetically enclosed admissions letter potentially traveling across the U.S.
Or a soul wrenching ding email.

I think a WL email would leave me feeling deflated, but a ding email might bring out an anger/sadness heretofore unseen. Dings and WLs always sting a bit, but this one will more so (for me). I plan on stalking the mailman tomorrow.jstep wrote:This wait is painful!

Got an interview request today. These seem super common, does everyone get one? Or is it a good sign?

Didn't get one myself, but I've seen people who got requests and were then admitted, and some who were not, and have seen people who didn't get a request get admitted and also not. Seems like different people get requests for different reasons, e.g. high numbers get interviewed as YP, low numbers to see if anything is outstanding that was missed, then probably anybody they want to know more from. How did they ask you?kek5250 wrote:Got an interview request today. These seem super common, does everyone get one? Or is it a good sign?

I got an email that said:
"Thank you for applying for admission to Georgetown University Law
Center! Based on the strength of your application, the Admissions
Committee would like to invite you to interview with one of our
alumni in or near your location. The interview program at Georgetown
Law assists the Admissions Committee in assessing certain personal
factors relevant to the admissions decision and provides you with an
opportunity to speak with a Georgetown alumni representative to learn
more about Georgetown Law."
Are some of them worded differently? Is this what yours said?

Were any of your group interviews off-campus or are they exclusively on-campus?

Re: Georgetown c/o 2017 Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
Hi Guys,
I got this email back in late January telling me they were holding my app until 2/28. Anyone else get the email? Anyone who got the email heard anything back yet?
The email reads:
"Thank you for applying to the Juris Doctor program at Georgetown University Law Center. Although the record you present is a strong one, the Committee on Admissions has chosen to postpone your final decision.
Each year, a large number of candidates submit applications to Georgetown Law early in the process. The high quality of this group makes the Committee's decisions extremely difficult. Please be aware that only a small number of early applicants have had their applications held, and a number of those applicants in past years have subsequently been admitted.
Once we have a better sense of the entire applicant pool, the Committee on Admissions will review your application again. No additional information is necessary, and the Credential Assembly Service (CAS) will continue to send us updates, which we will add to your file. A final decision will be mailed no later than Friday, February 28, 2014.
On behalf of the Committee, we appreciate your patience and continued interest in Georgetown."

Yes, there are a lot of folks who can comment on this ITT. Read or search through the thread and you'll find various posts. Personally, I enjoyed the Group Interview- it was very relaxed and I honestly think the overall points of the process are to just a) demonstrate your interest in Georgetown and b) show that you can collaborate with your peers.hellomellow wrote:Does anyone know anything about being asked to interview with the dean? I wonder why they bother holding people in late January when the decision is only 28 days away; it makes sense in November or early December...

Interview 2/22, status updates 2/26 & 2/27. Hoping to snag that ASW password soon.
Anyone know if this post-interview pattern is indicative of an acceptance, or do WLs/rejections have the same sequence? Thanks!

Yeah, a lot of us received an answer last week; very few got accepted (if any). I think most of us were put on one of the three waitlists. If you haven't heard back yet, that might be good news. We've been talking about this a lot in this thread, though. Just look through it, esp. the last 10-15 pagesakkirk wrote:Hi Guys,

Anybody have any insight as to why some interviews are group and some are one-on-ones with alums?? I've been invited for a one-on-one and am really curious as to what that means in terms of my chances.

I was wondering if it didn't have something to do with location/number of other applicants in the general vicinity.dehesse wrote:Anybody have any insight as to why some interviews are group and some are one-on-ones with alums??
