My heart breaks when Johann tweets pictures of acceptance envelopes. Oh what I would give to get one!
I think I am going to write a LOCI for NU. I am at exactly 2 months complete, but my scholarships for another school require me to accept by April 1. So I just want to reiterate to NU that they are my #1 and I would immediately withdraw from other schools if accepted, etc...

EDIT: Did you submit a "Why NU?" &/or interview? I agree with above^^. Do call and ask to see if such a thing would NOT be looked down upon/would be helpful first.

Also, Johann just tweeted the "Give the People what they want" Decisions today?!

Yes! I did every optional essay and the interview and I obviously love them so much by what I have written in my essays. There should be no confusion there. But perhaps you're right and I should call...

To anyone in a similar situation as me, I called Admissions and they said I can send in a LOCI and it will not hurt me at all and that it should be via email because they don't read anything sent via snail mail.

So I was held yesterday, and I really want to do an on-campus interview. I am going to be in Chicago next week, and I was planning on coming by the campus for a tour. I had spoken to someone in the admissions office about having an informal chat while I'm there, but now I definitely want to do an actual interview. The problem is that all of the slots next week are filled, and I can't afford to fly out to Chicago again if they open up more slots in April. Do you guys think I should ask the admissions office if there's any possibility that I could get an interview next week since I just got placed on hold yesterday and already had a trip to Chicago planned before I was notified?

I will root for your admission to NU if you change your avatar to a pretty gal. It shouldn't be someone famous though. That would make it more difficult to pretend that the avatar is actuallly representative of your looks.

I am aware that the avatar of the person below is not a famous person. I am just advising that if you are trying to win favor by using a certain picture, dont use a picture of a famous person.

i just came in here to scream about how awful it is to CALL northwestern law admissions. i wanted to take the phone and throw it out the window. press1 for MBA, press 2 for who knows what, press NINE!!! for JD admissions. It took me 4 minutes to get to the right prompt.

Did you interview with an alumnus? and was there anything odd about the interviewer? OR, Did you interview on campus, and is the person who you interviewed with still employed by the school?

Yeah, it does. I think that happened to someone else, though. I wish I could remember who.

I met some one at an ASW at another school that this happened to. She said they basically wanted more in depth information about a certain aspect of her application which was not covered well enough by the initial interviewer (who are often students), and it was very much a good thing; she was accepted shortly thereafter.

Being invited to interview again is a good thing. If they didn't like something, they wouldn't want to talk to you about it. They'd just ding you.

Is a LOCI appropriate before being WLed? I've heard mixed responses on this subject.

I sent one in because I have a pending fellowship at another school I need to accept by April 1st. I called Admissions and they said sending in a LOCI will never hurt me, so I thought, "Why not?"

Just curious, did you ever get a second complete date?

I ask because I think I'm just being a little hurried. I just realized it has hardly been more than a month for me, whereas you've had the full on 8+ weeks of torture.

Right. this Friday will mark 9 weeks. I believe what happened was:
- I was "Application Complete 1/17"
- Then I was "Application Complete 2/19"

Nothing since.
