Not panic - my #'s are probably stronger, but it seems they bunched all of the derelicts into the 3/15 DF group.

I got into 4 T14 schools so far and I'm in the 3/15 group. I don't think it's a bad group to be in.

I don't like that they needed a dean's cert. Obviously they're entitled to whatever they want on that front, but I'm not sure it bodes well for my chances. My dean really doesn't like me, and the opinionated nature of a dean's cert can be rough. I was rejected from every school that required one despite having better #'s than most of the accepted class, but held at Columbia so maybe some schools can see through it? I don't know, but I'm very worried Originally I ED'd to a top 10, and got held there, and I saw that new Sofia Coppola movie that week set in LA with all the palm trees, and the amazing nature of the city. Deep down I secretly hoped I'd be rejected from that t-10, and get into USC so that a.) I could go to USC and b.) wouldn't feel like I made an irresponsible choice to turn down a t-10.

Wait, USC required a Dean's Cert? Haha, uh...I didn't submit one and was accepted a couple weeks ago. Are you sure you're not confusing USC with another school? Or maybe that requirement totally flew over my head and they decided to accept me regardless (but I sort of doubt it, since I did pay attention and submit Dean's Certs at other schools).

the other USC requires one: University of South Carolina. USC doesn't require one unless you got busted for something

+1. We should all find out today/tomorrow for sure though (snail mail tomorrow obviously). I'm in LA so hopefully a letter comes soon with an acceptance.

Is USC generally a school where people on the same day get the same result?

When you go DF it usually takes a few days. And it's quicker for people on the westcoast. Although there have been people who have received emails about USC alluding to their acceptance prior to receiving the snail mail correspondence.

I think what he means is do people who get DF's on the same day all get the same result (e.g. all acceptances) or is it a mixed bag of results (e.g. some accept, some reject, some waitlist)?

Hmm... does anyone know how we are notified of scholarships and financial aid? Is it via snail mail again, e-mail, or would they post it on their website?

I think all of the 1/26'ers were URM. I know some of them got DF on 3/16 (they posted a few pages ago). I'm a IR 1/26 URM and I got my second IR date on 3/16 and am not yet DF.

If uncommon got DF that day then it probably bodes well for you and meh for the rest of us.

No, it doesn't mean your letter has not been mailed yet. I was DF 2/7, and my letter was mailed on 2/8, and nothing is listed in the mailings section even as of now.

In the sense that it means they looked at your file again and decided not to throw it out -- yes.

Not necessarily. Could go either way. I wouldn't look too much into it.

Well, it's positive knowing that there is movement on your application and that your application was not lost, lol. But whether an updated review date is good in the sense of your admissions decision, I don't know. I was admitted after 2 review dates, but some people have had more like 4 and gotten accepted.

Haha me too. Complete 1/6 --> IR 3/18. I'm fully expecting a WL/ding myself...perhaps we're all a lower-indexed batch and they're merely sifting for diamonds in the rough.

Just came on here to offer my own personal story for those of you still waiting and inexorably anxious. I applied in mid-January, went "complete" Jan 19. (On top of that, on March 4 they informed me I neglected to include my resume in my application package via LSAC, so I emailed it to them that morning) Application was lazily put together, didn't put much effort into customizing the essay for USC. I just got in today via snail mail. Letter is dated at the top March 16, 2011, signed by Associate Dean. IT IS A SMALL ENVELOPE, so don't die of a heart attack if you get a small envelope (though it does say a larger package is on the way.) I live about 30 minutes away from campus. So the letter took about 2 days to get here even though I'm really close FWIW. So I hope this gives some of you hope, or at least gives you more information. BTW its nowhere near my top choice. If i get into some other schools, i'm not going here.
