Does that mean the Ding awaits me? Or just that the Dean hasn't looked at my file yet?

I would assume he has looked at your file by now. CR2's went to several January applicants. You're looking at an acceptance / ding by Friday probably, just my surmise. Good luck though!!!

+1 ... I'm with you norcal. Our NorCal love was just not enough for Dean Tom.

Edit: but your LSAT is like 5 pts higher than mine and you have a good GPA too.....so you have a way better shot than I do haha

Yea but Berkeley also rejects and admits the most crazy of numbers! Here's to hoping for both of us!

Just got CR2'd--real worried about my GPA (3.7) and the fact that I applied late and haven't taken a year off.

Submitted 1/11 with a 3.7/174

just got an e-mail saying they are putting me into committee review (from administrative review). they will deliberate on it Feb. 18th, and will get a decision on March 11th or so. wow. very detailed. I submitted my application around Jan. 8-10 or so.

I dunno what a CR1 or 2 is but I got this today:

I write to inform you that your application at UC Berkeley Law School has passed an initial administrative review and has been selected for further consideration by the Faculty Admissions Committee. The Committee will begin deliberation on your application on February 18. We anticipate a final decision will be reached on or around March 11.

You're in Committee Review Round 2 (hence the "CR2" abbreviation). You made it through CR1, or the first round of committee review.

You're in Committee Review Round 2 (hence the "CR2" abbreviation). You made it through CR1, or the first round of committee review.

No. CR1 is the round of Committee Review that is about to end this Friday. They are people that applied early and were held over for Faculty Committee Review. We are CR2 or the people that applied later and are now being moved to the second round of Faculty Committee Review.

Honestly, they might as well make the CR2 a free-for-all deathmatch involving a cage, some weapons, and lots of fire. It'll be a lot more entertaining for all of us and Dean Tom can sit in an elaborate robe drinking the blood of the rejects as he grins at the forthcoming carnage.

I'm still confused but if the thing I got today was a CR2, I was UR 2/8.
