You'll be there for 3 years, and it will likely swap back and forth a few times from now until then. Look at employment outcomes for what you're interested in doing, and if the differences are negligible, go with where you feel comfortable between two objectively elite schools.

I do think it's a serious comment. It's very legit to be between U Chicago & Columbia...two very prestigious schools.

Damn. This is a pretty big upset for Columbia. I guess the rumors about them were true. Hopefully the can begin to staunch the bleeding. Good for Chicago, though! What they have accomplished in the last decade is really astounding.

I much prefer NYC and really like Columbia's LRAP. Very serious. Still have to check out Chicago's ASW though!

I meant the part about Columbia being 4 in USNews being relevant to any decision making.

Good for u Chicago for sure! Major accomplishment to stay at #4. Columbia is and it will always be a very prestigious law school though!

I think it's always easier to run a smaller size of class. Right? You can be more selective. Not worried about filling the class. Easier to place graduates.

because of a one place difference in the rankings? that's silly. you realize that most people outside of TLS have absolutely no idea what the current rankings are/care right? do you think big law employers suddenly think less of Columbia now?

Also, Columbia and Chicago will probably switch or be tied again next year.
