If it is a strong Why UVA, I imagine it will be a net benefit.

I submitted a Why UVA a week after my initial application. I called the admissions office and asked before I did it, and they were very encouraging about it FWIW

So, uh, I got a date change today. My last one was around December and was just an application complete update. It just changed to UR today. According to the sticky though, UVA doesn't really have status updates. Any idea what this means?

I think the sticky is wrong- I went UR1 in November and then UR2 in December, so they seem to have changed how they do things since the sticky's publication. I think UR2 means someone's pulled your app off the shelf and is reviewing it?

I also got a date change at some point. I've not been checking with any frequency, but I am fairly certain the date is kind of random. Status changed to 2/04/16, but I think I've checked it since then, and relatively recently too, with no change. (Original date said something in December.)

If I remember correctly I went: Complete --> UR 1 (waited for a while) --> UR 2 --> Interview request (Still said "Under Review" with UR 2 status date)--> Decision

Depends on the timing of the cycle it seems. Earlier this cycle it was not A-typical to hear the same-day (some even got an offer during the interview). The later the cycle goes on, it seems there is a bigger gap between interview and decision.

In the interview, I was asked (1) why UVA, (2) what has been the best day of my life, (3) what has been the worst, (4) what do I want to be doing in 10 years, and (5) what do I want to be doing in 30. I was, then, invited to ask questions. It was a very comfortable and enjoyable interview.
Your memory is better than mine, these were the exact questions I was asked.
Same, except I believe question 3 was phrased as the "most challenging day," not the worst.
My question 3 was, "How much money would it take for you to join us in C'ville?" To which I replied, "Every money." To which they replied, "See you in August".
Most underrated comment in thread.

If it's strong and genuine, it helps. Source: I did it. I was in UR1 limbo for months, sent one in, wound up getting in.

About to withdraw. At or above both medians and haven't seen anything since 1/16. Submitted 1/8.. It's seems most people aren't getting scholly money and I'm good on paying sticker if I'd get in. Looking at last year they ran out of scholly money before March so seems pointless to keep caring

Not sure if you are willing to or not willing to pay sticker. If you are willing, I would definitely wait as a lot of people will withdraw. If you are not willing, odds are not looking at your favor for $$$

Lolz still UR 11/13. I know that waitlist/rejection wave is coming soon, but I withdrawing without a decision feels like defeat...

Got my financial aid package via SIS and got the entire cost of attendance in loans. Does that mean I didn't get any merit-based aid?

In today!

I had decided to visit UVA and sent them an email asking about the visit. A bit later I get a call from a Charlottesville number and it's the admissions office telling me that it would be spring break when I planned to visit. We talked a bit. He asked if I had any questions about the school, and asked why I thought UVA would be a good fit. At the end of the conversation he said "Well we want you to come out, because we think visiting law schools is important, so we are going to give you a travel stipend. . . because we give all admitted students travel stipends."

I'm pretty excited. My little sister is an undergrad at UVA, and my whole family just loves the area.

Edit: I had been UR since 12/28
