Anyone want to switch held essays? I was hoping to get another set of eyes to look over my stuff for grammar/flow before I upload them.

Is there even a point to doing these? I'm below median on both counts. They should have just put me out of my misery with a ding.

you never know! i really do feel that very moving personal statements can make a big difference i remember reading all these PS booklets and seeing many online. of all that i've read, there's one that was truly phenomenal. she went to ND, had a 3.75, and a low LSAT score. she was not a URM. her essay was so moving, sad, and resilient. it brings me to tears every time i read it. she got into every top school besides yale. i'm sure you'll hear great news best of luck

I think I am going to write a LOCI for NU. I am at exactly 2 months complete, but my scholarships for another school require me to accept by April 1. So I just want to reiterate to NU that they are my #1 and I would immediately withdraw from other schools if accepted, etc...

At this point, do it. Call them beforehand to explain the situation. Maybe ask if they think an LOCI will help.

EDIT: Did you submit a "Why NU?" &/or interview? I agree with above^^. Do call and ask to see if such a thing would NOT be looked down upon/would be helpful first.

Also, Johann just tweeted the "Give the People what they want" Decisions today?!

How do hold applicants know their decision? by email?
I submitted the hold essays and the status checker is still Decision available within 24 hr.

IIRC, you just continue to check that site until an actual decision letter is available.

I believe your DLA status under status checker will update to a new date?

IIRC, you just continue to check that site until an actual decision letter is available.

I got mine about a week later.

The package isn't huge, BUT you do get a classily embossed NU moleskine notebook

Accepted today! Was complete 12/4 GPA>50% and 25%<LSAT<50% URM

I will be withdrawing probably because I think I have made my decision on schools, but Northwestern looks like a great school and hope this opens up a spot for one of you!

Yes! I did every optional essay and the interview and I obviously love them so much by what I have written in my essays. There should be no confusion there. But perhaps you're right and I should call...

I heard the same from Admissions w/r/t wait-list updates. They also mentioned that there would be an email dispatched, which I think is the norm when they move you to Admitted.
