Put on reserve today, which I'm surprised by (3.15/166, Non-URM).

Completed the phone interview a week ago, was told I should hear in a week...and still nothing.
This is something of a recurring trend with my law apps. I heard from Columbia, Berkeley, and UCLA almost instantly, but most of the rest have been silent. Feels strange, especially when other people are having the opposite experience, hearing quickly from schools like Harvard but getting stretched by Columbia.

Application sent: 1/7
Application complete: 2/2
Completed files update email: 3/8
Current Status Date: 2/28
Any thoughts on when I might hear back? I heard back from Michigan a few weeks ago (accepted) and I'm seriously considering it... but I want to wait until I hear back from Cornell as well. I'm worried that I might have to submit a deposit to Michigan without having heard back from Cornell....

Re: Cornell c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Been complete for almost two months now. My numbers are low for Cornell (even as a URM)
Any thoughts on sending them a LOCI now? Anyone had success with this tactic? (Sending one prior to a decision).
Thanks!

So if you expect to get WLed at a school, should you be sending one if you haven't heard back after a while? As opposed to right after you get WLed, which is what I did for two schools already....
I would send a school a very toned down one even if you expect to get admitted to that school. You don't want to say things like "if admitted, this is where I be" as I think that may have the potential to have negative consequences on scholarship negotiation, particularity if you later get a large scholarship from a different school and start backing down from the statement.
BUT, simply letting a school know you are interested in them can never hurt. I promise. Actually, to be on the hyper-paranoid safe side I shouldn't say never. So I can not see a scenario where a very soft "I am very much interested in X law school because of the following reasons..." could hurt.
Jay Jones, see Mike Spivey's thoughts on that above.

Probably asked and answered, but does anyone know the percentage of applicants admitted off reserve last year? I'm guessing it's minimal.

i looked at the threads from last year and the fact that SOME got in off the reserve is already a good thing. There was a post somewhere that the year before last Cornell didn't use the Reserve at all.Dream Weave wrote:Actually haven't heard an answer though it's been asked.
