Just went UR2. I've basically forgotten about all the schools that haven't got back to me, but here we go Penn, make my day.

I think they had sat. updates early in the cycle when ED people were waiting. Probably means they're busy and trying to hurry up and look at the rest of the apps. Or maybe it means nothing.shifty_eyed wrote:+1Micdiddy wrote:Just went UR2. I've basically forgotten about all the schools that haven't got back to me, but here we go Penn, make my day.![]()

FYI, at the ASW, the director of financial aid mentioned that approximately 65% of all merit aid offers have been sent out.

IF i get in, i wouldn't expect any merit aid, but that's still depressing to hear

Was anybody else at ASW amused by Dean Post's reference to TLS during closing remarks?

Regarding admit calls: "It took a while for people on TLS to figure out Randi [Garnick] wasn't me."homie1515 wrote:+1az21833 wrote:what was it?

When I visited the staff kept saying Randi and Renee in such a way that they sounded very, very similar and I couldn't tell who they were talking about. I highly suspect that I met with Randi Garnick, but I'm still not 100% sure. To Penn, if you're reading - you guys should use full names!aiaea wrote:Regarding admit calls: "It took a while for people on TLS to figure out Randi [Garnick] wasn't me."homie1515 wrote:+1az21833 wrote:what was it?

Edit: But wait... the person I talked to said they were the one who called me. So it must have been Dean Post that I met with?
Edited again: Nope, just googled a picture and it was definitely not Dean Post.
And edited again: this confusion was further exacerbated by the fact that my schedule said I would meet with Dean Post, but then I was told I would meet with Randi Garnick, and when I asked for clarification based upon my schedule the person I was talking with switched to first names, seeming to use Randi and Renee interchangeably (because I was having trouble telling the difference, I suppose).
TL;DR: Conspiracy theory: Randi Garnick and Renee Post are the same person. (Did you guys actually see both of them at the same time at any point during ASW? Think about it.)

Post and Garnick are definitely two different people and I saw both of them at ASW at the same time. And they don't look anything alike. Lol...HTH

Went back through the thread to see what happened to the people who went UCR2 on a Saturday earlier this cycle. It happened 12/1 right when they were finishing up their ED process. I only bothered to read til I saw two people's decisions - both applied RD and were accepted! I'm taking this as a good sign
