Re: Harvard 2010!
I completed and sent my Harvard application on December 22nd.
Today I got an email saying "application received" but that it wasn't complete, because they hadn't received all the materials yet.
What does this mean in terms of my timeline for going "complete", did they just finally acknowledge that I applied? Or am I less than a week from going complete?
I'm sure much of it depends if the Harvards admissions office worked at all between Christmas and New Years.

FWIW, I got an application received email a day after applying, and didn't go complete for another 20ish days. I'd imagine that your email is just an acknowledgement that you applied (especially since HLS admissions was on break from the 24th until today.Sogui wrote:I completed and sent my Harvard application on December 22nd.

Harvard's office was definitely closed between at least Christmas Eve (possibly somewhat earlier) and today. They presumably have all of your application processed except the LSDAS report, which they'll process some time this week or maybe early next week.

The "received" email just went from exciting to discouraging. At least I can put off my JR1 anxiety a while longer.

Re: Harvard 2010!
Man I almost with I had a 172 or 173 or I wouldn't put so much hope into Harvard. I wasn't even considering applying my LSAT matched my highest PT even though I didn't get to the last 2 questions on RC.
So I went from "I'll probably get around a 172, who needs Harvard anyway?" to "Oh god a 176, please Harvard PLEASE COME THROUGH FOR ME!"

Re: Harvard 2010!
Has anyone been dinged yet at Harvard? According to LSN, only one person, but not everyone's on there.
I'm just wondering because I've been "under review" since 11/23 and nothing. I'm mainly wondering why they're drawing out my rejection. My numbers are way too low to be in.

Exactly 40 days passed between my going under review and getting the JR1 email.
Trust me, it was f*cked up.

Re: Harvard 2010!
Applied yesterday...it's a long shot with my numbers (3.82/173) but I figured what the hell?
Any idea how long it takes to hear anything? I've heard some people say Harvard is fast at processing applications and other people say it's slow.

Slow. Don't expect to hear anything until February at the earliest. Harvard usually sends its last batch of admits (aside from waitlist) out in early-mid March.

Anyone think we'll be seeing a new batch of JR2 sometime in the near future?

Re: Harvard 2010!
Any other JR1s this week? I've only seen one. I'm holding out hope until next Friday...
Also, apologies if either has been answered, but is there a pattern to the JR1s (as in a bunch every few days; I know that complete emails are like this) and was there a pattern last year with the return after the break? Did that throw off the timing at all? I ask because I'm considering not giving up all hope until end of January, rather than mid-January. Thanks guys!

I'm assuming a new wave will come after the Dec scores arrive and are factored in

You actually had the interview today? Wow, I hope it went well. If you're just taking about the email, then good luck!fingerscrossed88 wrote:I had mine today (eek)!gobucks8284 wrote:Any other JR1s this week? I've only seen one. I'm holding out hope until next Friday...

Re: Harvard 2010!
Thanks so much, guys
Yeah, I actually had the interview yesterday! I was supposed to interview before Christmas but had to reschedule because I was out of the country. It was something like:
Submitted: 11/30
Under Review: 12/11
JR1 Email: 12/18
JR1: 12/22, rescheduled for 1/05
Complete: 12/22
Also, I didn't retake in December, so no help there ...
As for how it went, I'm not sure! It lasted 6 minutes and he asked me why law (with a few follow-up questions on my answer) and why Harvard. The more I think about it the more I'm starting to cringe, so I'm just not thinking about it, haha. All I can do is wait!
