I don't think interviews this cycle are a reliably good or bad sign, lots of people are getting them! I have a US undergraduate gpa to report, but I had a 172 and my most recent (post-grad) qualification was from the UK and rated 'superior' by LSAC - I haven't had any luck with Columbia yet, but so far equivalent and lower top 10 schools have all gone well, if that is reassuring at all. Best advice for the interview is to have really solid answers to Why Columbia.parcori wrote:Hey everyone, I was just wondering how common interview requests from Columbia are and if they are a good or bad indication for admission?
I'm pretty new to the forum so not sure if this helps but my stats are 171 LSAT score and an international qualification from the UK which leaves my GPA a giant stress inducing question mark. Depending on how you calculate it, it can range anywhere from a 3.68-3.90 and LSAC put me as an 'international superior' but I don't know what weight is placed on that. Also, I went complete February 15th.
If anyone has an interview tips, questions they were asked, or an idea that this is a good or bad sign please let me know! Thanks anyone with any information/advice

I was offered a Hamilton this week without an interview, so they're clearly not a necessity.parcori wrote:Hey everyone, I was just wondering how common interview requests from Columbia are and if they are a good or bad indication for admission?

Hey there! I have an international GPA and it doesn't look pretty, so it's been a huge source of stress for me as well. I have a 172 LSAT score and CLS asked me to interview, and I got accepted a week or two after. As far as I can remember my interviewer asked me why CLS, why law school, and she asked me to talk to her about my background as well. It was a pleasant interview and she made an effort to bring up little things from my resume that were "fun" and weren't necessarily related to professional goals or anything. Hope that's helpful! Feel free to PM if you have any more questions.parcori wrote:Hey everyone, I was just wondering how common interview requests from Columbia are and if they are a good or bad indication for admission?

If you would still go to Chicago over columbia there isn't really a point in staying on. Maybe wait until you get your scholarship offer from Chicago.call-me-bubbles wrote:Placed on reserve last night, no interview. I know the odds of getting offthe waitlist"First Reserve" are very slim, but I was planning to just ride it out just for the hell of it. After some more thought, though, would it be wiser to just go ahead and withdraw, since being placed on reserve gives me no additional leverage with other schools? UChi (recently accepted, waiting on $) is the dream.

Yeah as a follow up on my message, it makes to stay on at least until you commit to somewhere else where you would rather attend than columbiacharles117 wrote:what do you lose by staying on the waitlist?Keilz wrote:If you would still go to Chicago over columbia there isn't really a point in staying on. Has anyone who had an interview since 2/16 gotten a decision yet? Most posts seem to say they heard back a week or two after if they got accepted, so getting a little concerned...

I don't have as much hate for the rest of the Trump family as most people do, but are we supposed to feel sorry for her lol.
At least we know the professors won't take it easy grading her, but then again does it really matter what grades she gets?
Edit: I also had no idea Trump's sister is a Third Circuit judge.
To make things more interesting, she was a Republican and was nominated by President Clinton for a seat on the appellate court.

If you haven't received an interview request from Columbia by now, it's pretty much a guaranteed ding/WL, right? Asking for *a friend*

No, about half of accepted students get interviews.

Let me go ask the 2020 CLS accepted students' thread if anyone heard back "good news" after a 3+ week silence.
But it seems like many hear back within a week or two...
