Re: NYU c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Fun fact: Looking at LSN for this cycle, among applicants who have an LSAT of 171 or higher, there has been one ding and zero WLs, everyone is else is in or waiting.
With the usual caveats about a self selecting sample, It seems like they are pretty much saving their decision on the >170 folks til the end.
There is similar behavior at columbia (but for LSAT > 172), so maybe that's how they do in NY.

Long time lurker, but I figured just as an FYI I am LSAT=25th GPA>75th and was admitted yesterday, after receiving hold e-mail in early Feb. UR1 early December, UR2 this week. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

For all those waiting:
Here's a saying from the military, " False motivation is better than no motivation." So keep your head up and know that as long as you don't have the rejection letter you're just waiting for your acceptance. If you truly want to go to NYU, than the dream is still alive! "You usually have to wait for that which is worth waiting for." Craig Bruce.

94 on LSN with LSAT 171+ (>= school median).
173+ (>= 75th) : 57 total. 47 in; 1 ding (174, 2.75); 9 waiting. Of those waiting, only one is over 3.5. There are only two in that are under 3.5, one who applied very early (August) and was in by early December, and the other is URM-AA.
171-172 [50-75) : 37 total. 18 in; 19 waiting. No trends really pop out for this group.
Also, based on the numbers from previous years, this is what the cut off points seem to be at different LSAT scores
LSAT < 167 - Prolly not going to happen.
LSAT 167 - 169; need GPA > 3.75
LSAT 170; need GPA > 3.65
LSAT 171; need GPA > 3.39
LSAT 172; need GPA > 3.43
LSAT 173+; need GPA > 3.2

Re: NYU c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
So looking into NYU, the gpa and LSAT quartiles actually do a very good job of predicting outcomes (predicting about 70% of the applicants).
Here's how it breaks down:
LSAT >= 75th => in 79% of the time
LSAT 50-75 and GPA >= 75th => in 81% of the time
LSAT 50-75 and GPA 50-75 => in 73% of the time
LSAT 50-75 and GPA 25-50 => in 60% of the time
LSAT 50-75 and GPA <= 25th => Ding 54% of the time
LSAT 25-50 and GPA >= 75th => in 67% of the time
LSAT 25-50 and GPA 25-50 => Ding 58% of the time
LSAT 25-50 and GPA <= 25th => Ding 71% of the time
LSAT <= 25th => Ding 68% of the time

Have any RTK interviewees gotten info about their committees? I thought the initial email said we'd be hearing this week, but I've got nothing so far.

Got "the email" back in Feb.
Still weighing whether to send an unsolicited LOCI.
Mini Poll: Who has sent one in after receiving the email, and who has not?
(And if yes, who did you send it to, and has there been any feedback/confirmation/movement since?)
Thanks...
