Re: Northwestern Law c/o 2018 Applicants
Has anybody received the email who already previously had a portfolio for the optional essays? If not, from what I've seen, anyone who already had access to their portfolio shouldn't/won't get the email from today.

Re: Northwestern Law c/o 2018 Applicants
I found the WL Portfolio email for the optional essays that was being discussed earlier this morning in my spam folder. I was straight WL'd, no Hold, so I did not previously have a portfolio. I did interview prior to decision though.still wrote:wait can you clarify what you got in your spam folder?fishbulb wrote:Has anybody received the email who already previously had a portfolio for the optional essays? Did anyone elect the video option for these? Seems a little awkward and perhaps extra work, but potentially advantageous in terms of exposure.

Re: Northwestern Law c/o 2018 Applicants
I was accepted in mid May and it took a while to get my acceptance package. I can't tell you exactly how long it took, but I do recall thinking that they decided to stop sending them out. Low and behold, it just took a few weeks to receive it.mickey_mouse wrote:For those who were accepted off the waitlist around June 20...have you heard anything from admissions? I sent in the req'd $750 deposit and called the office to make sure they received it, but nothing besides that-- everyone else in the same boat? aka where is my acceptance package?!

This may just be referring to transfers, as indicated in a subsequent tweet, but:

ditto. Why give waitlisted candidates so much hope when its this late in the cycle? (realistically, they may accept 5 candidates max..)ggnobbq wrote:nu has teased me too many times with their emails

0L at NU...just wanted to stop by to say that the most recent email the admissions office sent us (deposited & committed to NU) mentioned that they're having "a tiny bit of waitlist movement". I know its not that helpful, but good luck to all of you still waiting!

For those who attended the candidates waitlist live chat yesterday, could you tell us how it went? (are they expecting to accept some soon, can we still submit supplemental information .. etc).

Re: Northwestern Law c/o 2018 Applicants
i think you can access the transcript
anyways like half the questions were "how can i increase my chances"
some useful info i got from it was
1) johann predicted possibly slightly less than usual WL acceptances this year
2) offers have been made to 10% or so of the WL - since traditionally NU accepts 20-25% of WL candidates he says maybe half or so of the candidates have been offered
3) they plan on making a few offers at the end of the month - depending on how many of the recently accepted wave decide to attend
4) everything is uncertain and ultimately depends on harvard WL and the domino effect from there
5) addcoms assess the waitlist every week or so
6) offers go until orientation / first day of class

Thanks for this. Not applying to Northwestern but I'm on the WL at other T14s and I can imagine their movements are dependent on one another.still wrote:i think you can access the transcript

I think I had a week? Week and a half? Unfortunately it came right after my apartment in Chicago was rented out and I signed a lease in LA, so I just couldn't make it work. Also no merit aid, haha.Tlaw14 wrote:Congrats on your acceptance!
