Re: Penn c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 cycle)
Man what is going on here? So many 170+'s waitlisted or rejected... I'm sorry to hear about all that, espeicially for the people who have Penn as one of their top choices.
Anyway, I'm just posting to add a data point. I got the email Friday saying I've been put on hold.
170 LSAT
3.91 GPA
Non-URM
Above average softs.
Good luck everyone! Hang in there. It sounds like there will be a lot of offers to people off the waitlist, and I would bet some will even be coming with a good bit of money.

I don't think it's YP for the most part. I'll elaborate when I'm not on my phone. But do a search for cotiger's 25/50/75 matrices, and also a few pages back where I talked about the role the 169 median may be playing in this.Synch wrote:Jesus. It's the strangest thing. So many people here scored so high because they studied extra hard for the LSAT, in the hopes that the high score would give them a better chance with these schools.lawschool22 wrote:I don't think it's YP for the most part. Now, it turns out their scores are too high and everyone's getting dinged/WL'ed.
It's mad. Mad, I say.

I'm gonna try to cleverly incorporate the lyrics of this song into my LOCI and fail epicly. #Yolochneyo wrote:I'm out of the running here (REJECTED), but if anyone wants to use the LOCI I had prepared to get the sure bump off the wait-list...

Hadn't checked this thread for a bit, sorry to hear about the most recent wave of WLs and Dings.
Looking over these numbers, I have this odd feeling I am doomed. Of course my application is locked at UR1 for eternity.

Penn was my top choice. This hurts, and it hurts badly.
I'm trying to take this as an opportunity to give a harder look to my other schools. I hope this will all work out. I'm going to be riding that WL to the bitter end though.

I'm so sorry toast

All this talk of YP, lowered median goals, or holistic review is nonsense; clearly, Penn just rolled a chaotic neutral AdComm this year.
