FWIW, the only 2 people i know who currently attend YLS are from large public schools. they do exist there, even if not in the hugest of numbers :p

I don't want anyone to think I'm talking trash... I obviously would have loved to go to YLS. I've just had a long history of feeling doubted because of the disadvantages I've faced, so it gets a little frustrating, especially when compared to HLS's relative enthusiasm about a little ol' prole like me.

Plenty of folks at YLS are from large publics (and not just Berkeley, Michigan, UVA, etc.). You've proven yourself quite capable of academic work. No one will look down on you there. If that's what's holding you back, that's silly.

I know it's not the only thing - K-JD doesn't help, but I can't exactly easily get fantastic impressive work experience (or even work that will service my loan debt tbh) straight out of college with a liberal arts degree from a state school, so the cycle of disadvantage continues.
It means a lot to me to feel wanted and recruited, and HLS has been doing that since the moment I went complete. It's hard to overlook.
Like I said, I'm waiting until after ASW to make a final decision, but the gut feeling is that HLS is a better place for me.

Didn't we decide based on something that it was ~ a 10% chance, with 10 getting off a 100 person list?

No they said in the email "less than 100" (that will accept the WL offer, more will be offered it). They said they have accepts anywhere from zero to twenty with an average of ten.

Yeah, I'm at odd as far as what to do here as well. I'm assuming there will be no movement the rest of this weekend, but I'm not sure if I should email them or not. Probably wouldn't hurt.

Just went and reread this quote from the initial email Yale sent out for completed applications: "We ask that you please do not contact the Admissions Office to inquire about the status of your application; frequent phone and e-mail inquiries delay consideration of applications." Maybe this point is moot now?

Okay...If someone tweets we expect to do something on a day and then it appear it didn't happen it's reasonable in my mind politely inquire about whether it happened and you are just unaware or if it didn't happen.
